you meet ravi thanks to your job, which is at a local animal shelter 

you work the night shift because some of the sick animals need 24/7 monitoring and ever so often at like 2 am you’ll see this guy ,,,,,, looking in through the window ,,,,,, at the puppies 

and he doesn’t look,,,,dangerous or anything he justs looks,,,,,,Sad

and one night u open the door with caution and ur like “um,,,,are you ok?” and the guy is like “o-oh sorry,,,,i must seem like a creep,,,,,” and ur like no nothing creepy about looking at puppies sadly. we all do it but,,,,,it’s the third time this week so-

and the guy chuckles but it’s ,,,, not like a happy one and he’s like “i work into the night and i ,,, never get to see dogs anymore because i dont go out during the day,,,,,i kinda want one but i dont think i could do it u know”

and ur like ??? be a good pet owner and he’s like yeah,,,,

and ur like “well,,,,,it all comes down to how much u love the animal. they’re like kids. if u arent scared of the commitment,,,,why not?”

and the guy looks at you,,,,slightly surprised probably because ur talking to him at 2am and ur also like not yelling at him to leave but suddenly there’s a slightly goofy smile on his face and he’s like,,,ur right,,,

and he says he has to go

and ur like ??? ok well???? we have some cute puppies here in case ur interested and he nods and like a week later he’s back,,,,,this time not at 2am he’s there at working hours and adopts a lil pup

which u dont even know till ur back on ur shift and he’s back and he’s like “i got a puppy,,,,,,please help me figure out what to do now”

basically what im saying is u bond with ravi over him visiting u at ur night shift with 24324 questions about being a good dog dad

and at some point,,,,,just to keep u company and stuff 

u even exchange numbers and ravi sends u like a billion pics of the puppy he got,,,,affectionately named butt and sometimes a blurry pic of him chasing his friend ken who keeps saying he’s going to steal butt for himself

and ravi,,,,,,is cute,,,,,with his tall figure,,,,slightly tired looking eyes,,,but bright smile and goofy grin,,,,,,,,,,,,,deep mature voice,,,,,,,ok ok we are getting of track here

but u think he’s so silly but so committed and sweet and at some point ur kinda,,,,,,like,,,,,,thinking of asking him on a date but ur also like,,,,this is a friendship,,,,,we aren’t even THAT close,,,,,and it’s probably awkward 

but u get a text one day and its a picture of butt in a little dog tuxedo and u jokingly text ‘is he getting ready for date night?’

and ravi responds with ‘yep! he just needs a date!’ 

and u laugh and ur like ‘i know a yorkshire terrier that might be available LOL’

but ravi goes ‘hmm,,,no i think butt prefers someone else. he has a crush!’

for a second ur like ??? maybe ravi’s neighbor has a cute puppy too??? but then u get a second text and it’s ‘actually,,,,,butt and i both have a crush,,,,’

it feels like ur stomach is sinking because oh,,,does ravi like some dog owner or something??? since he said him and butt

but then,,,,,there’s a shy text that goes ‘so,,,,me or butt?’

and ur like wait wait wait,,,,,,,,,,,does that mean??????? im ravis crush?????

u stare down at ur phone and ur like,,,,,,,,no way,,,,,but,,,,,what??????

before u reply there’s another text that sounds exactly like ravi: ‘u don’t have to say yes or anything or choose if i made this weird im really sorry,,,,,,,,’

and ur like ‘no!!! it’s not ,,,,it’s just???? do u like me???’

for a moment there’s no typing bubble but when it pops of it isn’t there for long because the answer is simple 

‘yes’

and ur gripping ur phone,,,the smile on ur face is a mixture of happiness but also nervousness and u go,,,, ‘ok,,,,,but,,,,,,,,,i like both u and butt? can i have a 2-in-1 deal????’

and ravi sends a picture of him holding butt up,,,pressing his cheek to his pets and he’s like ‘deal!! first date,,,,,,,the dog park?’ 

u giggle but tbh it sounds just perfect
