ppl are so shocked that haein is surprised by the divorce papers but fail to realize that divorce was smth that never crossed her mind at all. she obviously never expected hyunwoo to want a divorce.

like. the way that haein has grieved and dealt with pain is just by suppressing it. she even said earlier that "love is when you endure the pain together. when you choose to stay instead of running away..." !! we can see that she views this hard spot in their marriage as smth they will eventually overcome. additionally, they're so emotionally constipated & fail to talk out the issues in their marriage (they had like one conversation abt their issues), so, yes, this is really surprising to her. she has no idea what's going on in hyunwoo's mind, which, again, is another thing that the show has been telling us.
