every once in awhile i think about how creative wonderlands is and what a good game it is. found out recently it was being planned for years before coming out (tho mostly created over quarantine) and you can really tell bc my god it's so original and has so many unique and fun ideas like it's hard to think of a part i didn't like. and even if like a certain side quest is a bit tedious the gameplay all but makes up for it. dude it's so good everyone should play it

Small Destiny 2 appreciation post.

My boyfriend and I started playing last year on the encouragement of his friends. We missed playing Borderlands 2 together, but his computer isn't strong enough to run BL3, and we needed something with cross-play between his PS and my PC. D2 felt familiar to us with the skills and the gun collecting. Since then, we've enjoyed getting into the story, developing our characters, and getting just good enough to run occasional raids with his friends (now aka the clan).

MMOs on a season pass model are not for everyone, I know. I actually thought I was done with MMOs already. But a year's worth of passes is equivalent to a handful of date nights for us, and we get a lot more time with each other in the game throughout a season than we would in one night or afternoon getting food and a movie. We don't live together, and his immune system is not the best, so outside dates can't be frequent, either. So places like the Tower or the patrol zones have become date places to me, and D2 is more than just a shooty-shooty game we sometimes play together.

I was also never very social in my Ragnarok/MapleStory/PristonTale/WoW days. So I was also touched recently when I asked if we were playing with his friends anytime soon, and he said, "Why do you say they're 'my' friends? They're your friends, too." 🥺

The clan have all known each other since high school (we're all in our mid- to late 30s), I only met them because I was someone's girlfriend, and there's years of inside jokes and stuff I just haven't been party to, so I often feel like the tag-along, token girl. But last time we raided, I was a competent enough runner that some of them started joking I'd be invited without the bf, and two of them actually did add me to a Grandmaster Nightfall run without him a week later. Maybe he is right.

The Season of the Haunted started last week, so while his family was out last weekend, I stayed over and we just got nice food delivery and did weeklies and challenges together. I'm back home now and miss him already. But at least I know we'll be shooting bad guys in online outer space again soon enough.
