What's this? A hunting trip with Uncle Payakan goes wrong when Ziri, Pey-Pey and Payakan stumble upon the aftermath of an RDA attack on a Metkayina village.
To be finished soon

How did you come up with the names for the OC kids? Do they have a specific meaning? I've been mulling over how to turn a couple of my OCs into Navi but I'm uncertain what to do for their names. (I can pretty much use their original names but they mean nothing in Navi language, just sentence fragments and stuff, so idk)
Originally I had named Ziri after Neteyam (Netera), and Pe'yam after Payakan(Paya'tey).
But fundamentally I realised that was wrong(even though I really liked that idea originally). For one, we don't really see Na'vi naming kids after preexisting people. Naming kids after already existing people is a very... human idea(specifically western). And very prideful at that.
Na'vi see each person as a beloved child of Eywa so I think giving them a name copying another would be strange.
Plus I didn't like the idea of Neteyam and Payakan being thought of as comparable or equal in Lo'ak's eyes. His love for each of them is different.
I then decided to think of the sounds and common name structures. For one, 'iri' seems to be used in females commonly. (Neytiri, Kiri) so I liked the idea of using it again in Ziri, almost like it was a traditional family name structure. I decided to add 'mey' because it felt like a repeating sound that would be easy to fit into their language.
I watched the Avatar Behind the Scenes documentary on youtube and the linguist who designed the Na'vin language talks about how the sounds need to feel cohesive, he designed the language with an idea of how the use vowels and move their mouths. 'Mey' is very similar to 'Tey' which is a common suffix.
So Ziri'mey became her name.
Pey'am actually was sort of inspired by my original conundrum with their names being inspired by Payakan and Neteyam. I really liked the 'yam' structure in Neteyams name because it just feels soft and lovely - which is what I wanted Pey'am to feel like, a wee babe. Then the P just snuck in there, with 'ey' because I liked Ziri'mey structure and liked the sound of the names together. And I guess in a way his name did become a mix of Payakan and Neteyam? Whoops.
But they got no meaning to my knowledge other than they sound pretty.
