If you're a long time fan of Spongebob, this is a great movie to relive your childhood a little bit more. The live action visuals were impressive, but during those scenes, the comedy hit a dry spell until the last moments of the movie. All in all, this movie would have been a 10/10 if Spongebob stayed anchored, and never had left the water. Thankfully this part only lasts about 20 minutes, and moves onto one of the greatest movie endings, tying it up all in a bow with a nice rap battle that came out of nowhere (Creators of Epic Rap Battles of History), and some interpretative dance from Squidward that parodies his famous dance moves from a previous episode. Also this movie is sure to leave you wondering "what will happen next?!" As you can never quite predict what the writers will throw out at you (others have compared this movie to an acid trip, and I don't want to spoil anything, but I found it a rather enjoyable one) The only thing I did not like was the "superpowers" part, (this was the part that turned me off in the first place) as I felt some of them tried "too hard" to make the audience laugh, and it just didn't feel like Spongebob. (Listen for the "my leg!" recurring gag!). Not only this, but the jokes and gags are hilarious, and only occasionally fall short, but when they do, they make sure to make up for it. (If you ever watch/re-watch this movie, take a good look at the facial animations during the 2D parts, they're absolutely brilliant). I found every frame enjoyable, and it almost has a Ren and Stimpy like feel to it which made me appreciate it so much more. The 2D animation is the best animation I have seen in a LONG time.

In the real world, where this will show up in a tent is if you get a hole or slight tear in the fabric. The knock offs are probably worse than no ripstop at all because they give the illusion of quality or ruggedness. Ripstop is used in better products however there are some cheap fabrics that "look" like ripstop so buyer beware. Ripstop is a reinforcement pattern in the fabrics that adds extra strength to help stop tears from propagating thus "ripstop". What is ripstop fabric and is it an advantage? Polyester is cheaper and generally heavier. Polyester is usually a lot cheaper and more common in lower end products. Nylon is also more supple and packs smaller. Therefore a shelter made of Nylon can be lighter than one made of Polyester. These are both synthetic fabrics, and polyester does have some subtle advantages in UV performance but Nylon is ounce for ounce tougher. What is the difference in Nylon and Polyester? Below 30 Denier, the weight saved is not that much in relation to denier. Heavier Deniers are stronger if everything else is equal. In addition, the lower denier fabrics do not start to save much weight for example a 7 Denier Nylon weighs more than half what a 30 Denier Nylon does. In our experience, fabrics below a high quality 30 Denier start to become pretty whispy and likely not suitable for sustained hard use. Heavier denier fabrics do weigh more but heavier does not necessarily mean better quality or more durable. Heavier denier fabrics are often thought to be stronger and tougher but the toughness can be misleading because a lot of the toughness is determined by other details such as the type of thread / yarn used. Thus a 30 Denier fabric is thicker than a 20 denier. Over time, this has morphed and meanings may be mixed a bit however in general it is a rating of how thick a fabric is. What is Fabric Denier?įabric Denier was originally a rating for how thick a fabric was in comparison to a single strand of silk (which was 1 denier and weighed one gram for 9000 Meters of thread. Waterproof / Breathable fabrics are unlikely to gain traction in tents for a myriad of reasons. If properly ventilated, then waterproof / breathable fabric is obsoleted due to cost. In the end, it's easier, lighter and less expensive to do things the way they have been done which is single wall or double wall tent designs with good ventilation. If a top end waterproof breathable jacket costs a few hundred dollars, imagine the cost of a tent. Third, the cost of these fabrics is very high, and a comfortably sized winter camping hot tent uses a LOT of fabric, which would drastically increase the cost. Second, what makes it waterproof and breathable usually makes it heavier and weaker. First, many fabric manufacturers will not sell waterproof / breathable fabrics for use in tents (a bivy being the exception). However, this is about as likely to happen as you bringing home a live Unicorn for a kids birthday. Well, we would love a strong, light, fairly priced waterproof / breathable hot tent fabric. My favorite track on this was "I Can't Control Myself," as the whole production was wonderfully amazing. The closest thing to bubblegum here is "Surf City " by the time I got that far I had grown tired of listening (I was bored through the whole thing). The high point in Joey's vocals is the cover of "Substitute" by the Who, an OK cover, but not great. They sound like a crappy cover band trying to make a few bucks. Actually, on all the songs he sounds tired and lackluster and the whole band seems pretty bored and uncreative. The notable power chord sounds we have expected from the Ramones are finally emerging. "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" is an exception. One problem with Acid Eaters is the production, the guitar was too low and in the background on most songs. These songs sounded great when played in the Ramones' punk fashion. They have done great cover songs before Acid Eaters like "Let's Dance," "California Sun" "Do You Wanna Dance?" and "Palisades Park," which were 60s bubblegum pop songs, not hippy tunes. But this album of '60s psychedelic cover songs was the worst thing in their 22-year career. The Ramones are one of my favorite bands.

If nothing else, it’s nice to be represented, even if it doesn’t have a big impact on the game. In most adventure games, the hero’s gender is purely an aesthetic choice, but even so, it’s far, far more common to find male characters in these roles. My inclination at the start of the game was that her gender did indeed matter, but only because of its relative rarity. The only way that we know she’s a woman is because of the sounds she makes during combat, as well as the other characters’ pronoun use. So, in a game like this, does the gender of the protagonist actually matter? After all, the Scythian is represented by nothing more than a few colored rectangles. As you journey along, the ambient hums, strums and coos of the sublime soundtrack (composed by singer-songwriter Jim Guthrie) teach you that an adventure can be a pretty mellow thing. The artwork is so minimalist that it makes pointillism look downright lavish. The story is light, and the writing never reveals anything beyond than what you absolutely need to know. Combat is all about pattern recognition and response time there are no tactics to be found here. A simple double-click - or “tip tap,” as the game calls it - is all you need to move, explore, and interact. This is a game that can easily be played one-handed, as you will rarely need more than the left mouse button (which makes sense, as S&S was originally designed as a touchscreen iOS game). Suffice it to say, it’s a story of mysterious forests, evil beasties, ancient relics, and of course, sworcery.Īt first glance, Sword & Sworcery is deceptively simple. Sword & Sworcery tells the tale of the Scythian, a fearless warrior from far away lands, “guided by the cursor of an all-knowing god.” I won’t going into detail about her “woeful errand,” because some of the game’s charm depends upon its slow reveal. It’s every bit as quirky as the name suggests, but beyond the tongue-in-cheek lies a soulful, soothing adventure game - with a sword-swinging, magic-flinging female protagonist to boot. All of these games are worth getting excited over (I’ve been obsessing over Bastion for months), but today, I’m going to focus on Sword & Sworcery. If you pay more than the average (currently a paltry seven dollars and change), they’ll tack on highly acclaimed action-RPG Bastion. I have always been impressed by the Bundles I’ve picked up in the past, but the current offering - only available until June 14 - takes the cake: Psychonauts, LIMBO, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. In other words, you get to discover new games without breaking your budget, worthy charities get some love, and indie developers get the support they deserve. Whatever you pay will be split between the developers and two amazing charitable causes: the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child’s Play Charity (you also get to determine the split). The result is the scooped-mid, bass and treble heavy, sparkling, twangy "Fender Tone," we hear on so many classic '60's blues, R&B, etc. With the BF Fenders, Leo has dialed out most of the midrnage and tightened up the bottom-end to make it punchier. You run into a lot of used Tweed clones on the web because people though they were getting "Fender Tone" in a cooler package, only to be shocked to get mini-Marshalls. THey have more aggresive preamps and are midrange heavy, whch gives them a lot less headroom and a lot warmer, fatter, less defined distortion. Tweeds are in the Marshall family tone-wise. Tweed Fenders have their own tone, "Tweed Tone," they don't have any of that signature scooped-mids "Fender Tone" you normally associate with Fender amps. It helps to break the amps done chronologically Leo Fender worked hard throughout his career to make his amps clenaer and brighter with more headroom. Its custom built cab built to spec except the handle. I guess its just a very well balanced tone section in the amps circuitry. With the Brownies its like adding a nice treble booster in front of it. With the Black Deluxes treble cranked up it just pierced. With the Brown tone knob at zero it just sounds jazzy. Example: With the treble at zero on my old Black Deluxe it just sounded like mud, unusable to me. I find most amps, Fenders included fall short at a lot of eq settings. My favourite thing about the Brown deluxe is it gives something great no matter where you put the tone knob. A unique mix between a tweed and a blackface. Not a very 3 dimensional sounding amp, more vintage and focused sounding. Cuts through in a band without a hitch probably due to its midrangey voicing. If a kazoo could sound good, this is how it would sound. It helps to have a Weber speaker in it(I have 12a125a(Jensen P12q). The bright channel can be over the top with Teles but great with Les Pauls and humbuckers in general. Much darker sounding amp, more tones to be had with just the use of a single tone knob than you would imagine. The trem is great, more character to it than a blackface, deluxes don't have the harmonic trem found in vibrasonics(which by the way is something everyone must hear) but it is still great. Brownies break up earlier, with a much more ballsy, midrangey, marshallesque type of breakup. More noticeable than the difference between a Silver and a Black. I had a Blackface Deluxe before and the difference is quite noticeable.

They don’t actually protect the roof against wear and tear. Any coatings placed on a copper roof are merely for aesthetics. The good news is that home and business owners can stop coating their copper roofs at any point and let the patina develop naturally. Unfortunately, coatings do wear away over time, which means the copper roof will need to be resealed periodically in order to maintain its shiny, original color, and if the coating wears away unevenly, parts of the copper roof may start to develop a patina before other sections of the roof. Once the coating is applied, the patina process will not occur as long as the coating remains intact. This is slightly more expensive than nitrocellulose but may offer the best protection against the formation of the patina. Silicone coatings also work well to prevent patinas from forming on copper roofs. Acrylic coatings are slightly more durable, but also more expensive. Nitrocellulose coatings are the most popular due to their cost, but they must be reapplied every year. This can be accomplished by coating the copper sheets, panels or shingles with a sealant that prevents air and water from coming into direct contact with the copper.Ĭommon types of copper sealants include nitrocellulose, acrylic and silicone. While the formation of the patina should be considered a natural process and admired, some homeowners and commercial building owners may want to keep the original color of the copper by preventing air and moisture from coming into contact with the copper. However, a copper roof that is installed in an ocean environment may develop a patina in as little as five or six years. If the environment is extremely dry, like in the desert, it may take as long as 20 years for a patina to start to develop. Two factors can slow the formation of the patina, including how clean the copper is when it is installed and the amount of moisture present in the environment.
