"I believe people backed off from Amen's route when they realize Amen wasn't that man" I hate everyone but my LI" a common trope in romance; and in this case everyone expected Amen to change for Eva. Nah.

The author twisted this trope and gave us a man with his own issues: he hates Livius because he was born rich, Amen associates dark Magicians as insects, he's grumpy and cold, he can be decent. He has some feelings towards Eva yet that doesn't make him magically better or treat the her better: Remember when Set said Eva and Ram were gonna die when Amen almost caught us; so LI or not, he was going to kill Eva for the sake of his beliefs and that's what makes his and Eva's relationship so compelling.

We know that when Amen is gonna have proof, a part of him will be delighted to have caught another dark magician, the other will probably suffers because a part of him had hoped that Eva was a simple lousy scribe."
