Privacy Issues between Parents and Children
We have the freedom to choose who we share our thoughts and feelings with thanks to privacy. Data that we do not want shared publicly is also covered by privacy. It aids in the safeguarding of our physical well-being. According to previous studies, children give their parents a lot of leeway when it comes to violating their personal space and invading their privacy (Burgoon et al. 1989).
Kids, on the other hand, respond negatively when they believe their parents have crossed the line, invading their privacy boundaries. The kids want to have some control over their belongings, their rooms, and their personal details.
Children's sense of privacy and desire for a space to call their own develops as they grow older. It's important for parents to respect their children's privacy despite their curiosity.

A Formalist Approach to Pablo Neruda's: If You Forget Me
The poem speaks directly to the writer's lover, warning them of what will happen if they fall out of love and forget them.
"if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail"
The writer visualizes a scenery in the beginning of the poem and tells the lover how much they love them.
"Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.
If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you."
The tone switches and the author warns their lover that if they forget them, they will also stop loving them.
"But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine."
In the last part of the poem, the author tells them that if they decided to keep loving them, the author will forever yearn and cherish them, as long as they remain in their heart.
The poem shows how love can only grow when it is present in both parties. Love will only cease to exist if one is no longer in the other's mind or heart.

[mdzs] Analysis of Jiang Cheng’s name and character traits
After my previous posts on WWX and LWJ’s names (now LSZ’s also), I decided to do another one on Jiang Cheng, as I think this reference sheds so much light on his significance in the story.
Tumblr media
Jiang Cheng’s name derives from a poem by renowned Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu. “云阔烟深树,江澄水浴秋” (yún kuò yān shēn shù, jiāng chéng shuǐ yù qiū) translates to “vast clouds and mists entwine the deep forest trees; autumn bathes in the clear river”. Cheng (澄) itself means “to make [sth] clear and unclouded”.
The poem paints a vivid picture of autumn’s colours dancing on the clear water. Interestingly, the phrase 秋水 (directly meaning autumn waters), is used to describe a longing gaze, deriving from the Chinese idioms 秋水伊人 (meaning the friend one is longing for) and 望穿秋水 (meaning await with great anxiety).
My heart aches at this discovery. Doesn’t this bring to mind JC’s plight of persuading WWX to abandon the dark and perilous demonic path, his envy of WWX and LWJ’s relationship, the months he spent waiting anxiously for his return from the Burial Mounds, and looking after Chen Qing for 13 years whilst keeping faith that one day he might see his brother again? JC’s father chose his name to mean “clear, untarnished”, however throughout his life he lived in WWX’s shadow… he hid his true feelings towards him behind brash words in life and raging condemnation in death.
Tumblr media
Jiang Cheng’s zi, or courtesy name Wan Yin (晚吟), comes from a poem by another Tang Dynasty poet Xu Hui. “茶香秋梦后,松韵晚吟时” (chá xiāng qiū mèng hòu, sōng yùn wǎn yín shí) translates to “I wake from a hazy nap in autumn, enshrouded by the fragrant aroma of tealeaves; at dusk I saunter and recite poetry, the pine branches swaying in time”. The words Wan (晚) means “at night” and Yin (吟) means “to recite” or “to lament”. The poem’s depiction of a deep sense of abstruse melancholy – as the poet spends his days in Autumn idly, being indifferent to the world – is widely quoted by Chinese literati of today’s age.
To me, this is a great depiction of how lost and despondent JC would have been the first few years after WWX’s death. Let’s not forget that he is the only surviving character in the story who lost every single person dear to him the moment WWX died – it’s hard to imagine how he managed to rebuild the Sect without anyone by his side…
Bonus trivia: Both JC’s birth and courtesy names are taken from scenic moments set in Autumn. In Chinese tradition, the Autumn season is associated with the emotions of both courage (霜气横秋) and sadness (秋风落叶), the act of mourning (秋祭), and is also connected to the Westward direction, often considered to be the direction of dreams and enlightenment. These words depict JC’s key events in mdzs – courage when he saved WWX from the Xuan Wu cave, sadness when WWX defected from the Jiang Sect, mourning when he lost all his loved ones, and enlightenment when he found out about the golden core and finally resolved his inner turmoil.

"If you are given a chance to make a rule of law to protect your citizens in accessing the internet, what would it be, and how would it be of a great benefit?"
I don't see the need to implement a new law for the netizens' safety as there are already rules and laws that protect their spaces. However I would like to raise more awareness regarding internet safety since there are netizens that are still unaware of the potential harm browsing on the internet may have--and that's by opening lectures and discussions about the internet in schools and programs. Also strengthen cyber security

A Summary of Where’s the Patis by Carmen Guerrero Nakpil
One of a Filipino's biggest dreams is to travel abroad. To drive on new roads, inhale the foreign air and adapt into the unfamiliar society and be one with the people. But no matter how long a Filipino stays away from his country, even if he denationalizes himself, he will always find himself yearning for the taste of his homeland.
The author puts a fun twist in his essay in which he adds a little story wherein a character, who had just moved into a new country, hops around different places to satisfy his palace but alas, he realizes that no delicacy can replace the warmth of Filipino cuisine.
The character represents Filipinos. The message the author wants to tell us is no matter how far a Filipino is, his heart will find its way home.

Is it really necessary for students to utilize the use of academic textbook when internet is ready to use?
Yes! Although the internet may have almost everything you need, we have to know that everything on the internet can be edited or hacked into by strangers. Access to information is free and open on the internet but editing and sharing information online is also free, that means not everything is reliable and true. The same can't be said with academic textbooks as they go through various proofreading and verifying before the publishing. It's also possible for academic textbooks to have false information but it's less likely to happen than false information on the internet. Lastly, academic textbooks are written only by licensed professors and scholars---it's why they're published because almost everything in the book has already been verified and thoroughly researched. The same can be said with the internet but again, everyone shares information and it's unknown which is reliable unless you do a thorough research. Academic textbooks can also have information unavailable on the internet. Both are essential to students for academic purposes but it's important to have sources outside the internet to gather more information.

How do you keep yourself safe online?
First and foremost, I never share personal information online. That includes my age, real name, address and so on. It's never a good idea to share any personal information about yourself since the internet is full of strangers and the more public your account is, the higher the risks are. I'm also always cautious of who I talk to. It's okay to interact with strangers but always be cautious and don't overshare. If you're a minor then do not ever enter nsfw spaces/spaces for adults. The internet can be a fun and safe space for us but do remember that it's also dangerous and you always have to be cautious in what you post, who you talk to and what content you consume.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque stated that the Dengvaxia controversy contributed to Filipinos' hesitancy over COVID-19 vaccines.
Yes, but I would like to point out that the Dengvaxia controversy was the government's fault.
Moreover, SINOVAC vaccine's efficacy is about 50-70% and it is also very expensive. It's safe to say that it is the worst vaccine out of all the options. And if I recall, SINOVAC has no EUA approval from established markets.
I'm disturbed as to why SINOVAC is the government's preferred vaccine despite its low efficacy rate and it being more expensive compared to other vaccines that have higher efficacy rate. I simply can't justify this.
Can we really blame the Filipinos for being hesitant? It's natural for us to be hesitant to vaccines of course but with this vaccine, it's a risk.
