Even Junko makes sure to keep a softer tone of voice, knowing just how easily frightened to is.

"Happy day of birth, Mister Saihara! It is quite a momentous occasion for us to be here to witness your coming of age!"

It was finally the day. It was finally time. He had prepared so long for this. As he tucked the small box into his pocket, a symbol of his affection, Kaito took a deep breath. What if he said no? What if he didn't feel that way just yet? Even optimists get scared. 

No. Thinking like that wouldn't solve anything. He loved Shuichi, and he knew Shuichi loved him. It couldn't hurt to try, right? Yeah. All he had to do was go for it. 

Kyoko, Celestia, Sayaka, Sonia, Chiaki, Junko, Mukuro, Kokichi, Maki, Tenko, Nagito, Angie, Ibuki, Tsumugi, and everyone else was already there. Now it was Kaito's turn. If all went as planned, Kaito and Shuichi would be bound together for life. This time, legally. He knew it would come with troubles and hard times for them both, and he knew sometimes Shuichi felt unworthy of him, or worthless in general, but he was prepared for that. It was finally time. 

He gently knocked on the door.
