I still think the choice to have April be playable is weird since the whole game is a 90s nostalgia throwback and April's primary role in the 90s was being kidnapped. Now she's had enough and is beating everyone's ass. Again. Entirely because TMNT is desperately lacking in female characters.

Listen nostalgia's not inherently bad. People act like it is and it does make you do stupid things but it's fine. You can't buy a product and recapture your youth but you can appreciate old stuff in new light, and you do get to spend just a little bit of time in your youth.

I don't believe "number go up" is a strong enough reason to carry a game, even the games that allegedly are addicting for that reason.

A lot of people said that both Cookie Clicker and Vampire Survivors prove we still have that monkey brain of "number get big = good" but I think that's boiling it down too far. I think that it is a draw to some people, but I think the overall presentation is what's actually important and where a lot of games based on these games tend to stumble.

I bought Touhouvania 2 off Steam and I'm playing it on deck and oh my god it's been years since I've been able to play the game. I used to play the shit out of it on an older computer but I haven't gotten it to launch on more recent computers.
