I'm a Jewish woman who doesn't identify as white. Here's one of the many reasons why.

On October 7th, when Jewish women (and men and children) were raped by genocidal Islamists, the world turned its back.

Even UN Women, an organization you would *expect* to stand up for women - all women - regardless of their nationality or ethnicity, didn't say anything.

The left seemed to turn its back on the #MeToo and #BelieveWomen movement, at least when it applied to Jewish women. They would believe white women in a he said/she said scenario, but when the rapists openly admitted their crimes and filmed them for the world to see, suddenly the left wasn't so keen to believe women.

All the discourse about how rape cannot occur in self defense seemed to fly out the window in favor of "resistance by any means necessary".

And sexual violence against Jewish women neither started nor ended with October 7th. There is a well documented history of Jewish women facing rape during pogroms, and both Jewish men and women faced sexual violence during the Holocaust.

Sexual violence based on ethnicity/race is something many marginalized groups have faced throughout history and today: Black women faced rape during slavery (and still face high rates of sexual assault today). Yazidi women were and still are being kept as sex slaves by ISIS, Indigenous/Native American women today face incredibly high rates of rape and sexual assault, and so many other examples.
