Everyday Witchuals to do with/for a cat

Bonding to little fluffs can be very grounding and meditative. Here are some of my favorite little things to do for my favorite little things!

With a highly vibrational crystal (selenite, blue kyanite, blue celestite) in your hand, pet your cat. When they begin to purr, visualize the flow of energy between the rumble of your kitty and the rumble of the mineral.

Leave an offering of catnip on your patio for neighborhood cats.

Create a small (not sharp!) crystal grid on a perch area where kitty lays often.

Make quartz gem elixirs or moonwater to add to kitty’s water dish, or set a similar water dish out for neighborhood cats.

Drink your coffee/eat your breakfast at the same time as your cat eats. Be present as you commune together, accepting nourishment from the earth simultaneously.

Let your cat pick a tarot card (or a few!) to read for yourself.

Draw or stitch a sigil onto their collar for protection.

Charge their dry food in a clear jar by setting it on a windowsill under a full moon or setting citrine crystals on top of the lid for 12 hours. Say a blessing when pouring it into their dish.

thanksgiving is cancelled in 2020. instead, november will be a month of Dionysian madness, casting curses, moonlight revelry, dubious self-care methods, ritual sacrifice, and mashed potatoes.

Halloween 2020. Not samhain in my half of the globe, but since Halloween is so popular and I don’t observe the wheel of the year anyway, I still consider today is a day worth celebrating. 

Cleaned everything, bathed my friends, and left a few offerings:

-Crackers with my favorite and most decadent dulce de leche.

-Salted peanuts for Mr.Dragon who isn’t that much into sweet things.

-Cold water for my lovely egyptian deities.

-Gin for Mandinga but he decided to share and party.

-Coconut and vanilla incense stick, for anyone and everyone in my spirit family and among the deities I follow. 

I feel super cheerful today, and inspired to do some spring cleaning. Have a terrific day <3

Four shells protection spell

Hellooo everyone! I did a lil something to celebrate summer since I’m finally officially on holiday! ♡

Materials:

• salt

•black pepper

•rose thorns (pins will work as well)

•sea water (you’ll need just a few drops)

•rosemary

•sage

•lavender

•seaglass

•basil

•4 candles (one for each element- I used blue for water, red for fire, black for earth and white for air.)

•marker

•4 sea shells (like these ☟)

☾1☽ Draw on the inside of the shells the symbols of the elements (one on each)

☾2☽ Light the candles, then place the herbs, salt and seaglass inside of each shell (the order does not matter). Sprinkle the sea water on the shells; while you do so visualize your goal, for example protecting your house from thunderstorms, from burglars… whatever you need

☾3☽ When you’re done, pour the wax of each candle on the corresponding shell to seal it.

☾4☽ Once the wax has cooled down, place the water seashell west, the air one east, the earth one north and the fire one south. 

You can bury them in the garden or if you don’t have one you can bury them in small jars. You can also keep them on the floor or forniture inside your house! ♡

Do you think that working with spirits from vastly different systems may cause conflicts in the mind?

In the mind - that’s a you problem. If you can’t handle it, don’t. And trust me none of these eclectic bullshitters honoring 20 gods from 4 different pantheons has actually ever talked to anything other than parasites.

In your « court » - yes, it most certainly can. Other the past couple of months I have seen multiple practionners (myself included) being forced to choose a side, or loose power. Most spirits take allegiances very seriously and you would do well by not fucking that up.

It’s not impossible, mind, but it requires cunning and the consequences for you if you fail and/or are found to be deceptive could be disastrous.

A friendly warning about Tiktok and social media paganism

In the past days and weeks, I’ve noticed a rise of interest towards a side of the pagan/witchy content on Tiktok, and not in a good way. Before I go on, I just want to make it clear that I know there is good content/responsible tiktokers on there too and that the platform can be a good way to display and share your routine, altars etc… This post is not targeting those people. If everything was fine I wouldn’t be writing this damn post.

Anyway, in about a week, there has been this along with so many asks on @thepastelpriestess ’s blog (withtok tag, for those who want to read that). 

Aside from the blatant misinformation that is circulating on Tiktok, there'a more worrying phenomenon: some people are claiming to be threatened, or mistreated by the gods. Others are saying their physical ailments are caused by unsatisfied deities. Example here, but I’ve also been told of another similar story about Hades circulating on TikTok. I’m sure there’s much more that I’m just not aware of. Those kind of claims are not without consequences, it creates fear for some, doubt for others. Overall, it creates a very unhealthy environment that plays with people’s insecurities and anxiety, when it doesn’t straight up generate anxiety. 

I can’t stress enough how dangerous that can potentially be, and I don’t mean on a spiritual level. I mean that it is also the perfect environment for abuse to occur. Having a fearful, weakened following makes it easier to hook people to believe whatever and do whatever and/or push an agenda. It’s manipulation 101 and spiritual communities are especially fragile to this because claims cannot be proven right or wrong and always rely on the feeling of trust the audience has towards the person. 

So please, please, be critical of what you hear and who you follow. Don’t just assume that everyone is informed or has good intentions. Spiritual subjectivity is not an excuse to brush off all cautiousness.

Hi, hope you are doing well today! There are some theories that traditional and folk magic works because the rituals used in them have been used many times before in history, and so the faith and energy of the past practitioners imbue them with an innate power. Do you think there is a truth on this? Do you believe certain words or prayers are innately magical? Thank you :)

Definitely, yes. It can be said of the Bible just like it can be said of traditional oral charms and other folk words of barbarous power. Glamours on texts and fire in the voice that utters.

Truth be told, dear, I am still not exactly sure why nor how magic works. I know it works, I know it can be wielded, I know it requires dexterity and such skills of manipulation that can be trialed and refined - but when it comes to the specific tapestry that ties it all together as a whole, affecting each and every golden thread whether by sympathy, contact or contagion - I’m as blind as a mole.

There are rules - chains of causes and consequences, and of consistency in patterns, influences and natures - call this spirit with this offering and these words and it shall appear if you follow the directions to the bottom line down to timing - but most of them are still a mystery. And I quite enjoy that : being reasonably lost is half the fun.

Power is power : it can be shown and proven. Really, that is all that matter.

it pisses me off when people mix up satanism, luciferism, and luciferianism 

athiestic satanism believes that Satan is a symbol of human traits, and they believe in loving yourself and giving in to human nature

theistic satanism has a few different things, but most believe in magic and a satanic deity, whether christian or otherwise

luciferism has nothing to due with satan, and promotes enlighenment and human progression, and can involve lucifer or not

luciferianism can be considered a religion or a belief system, and is about reaching enlightenment, this is sometimes considered the same thing as luciferism, but can be different

How To Do Magic

When I started practicing magic I thought there was a missing link. Something I didn’t understand. Sure, I could look up spells, but surely that wasn’t enough. There must be something else, something I didn’t understand. After all, simply repeating words and tying a red ribbon around an egg couldn’t be enough to affect reality, could it? What was the secret that would turn words in to real effects?

It would take me years before I was able to put together a model of magic that fit what I observed. As a spirit worker and an animist, my model of magic revolves around the spirit world. As I began to understand my model more and more, magic made more and more sense to me and my skills increased. I would like to share with you my model for understanding magic and how it helped me understand the world in a new way.

Everything has a spirit. Well, almost everything. Everything organic and living has a spirit, as do many man-made things like cities, houses, and objects. These spirits do not follow physical laws, because they are nonphysical. They exist in a highly symbolic world, where snipping a string is symbolic of breaking a relationship apart, or tying a string together can represent a binding.

Humans are able to interact with spirits because, well, the veil is thinner than we all like to think. Spirits are not off in some far-away “spirit world” that we have to travel to. Spirits exist alongside us, around us, and in some cases within us. The spirit of your house is not locked away in some ivory tower in a remote spirit world; it is around you always, slumbering, watching, and waiting for human contact.

When you take an egg, or a ribbon, or some string, the physical objects are nothing but representations and symbols. The true magic lies with the spirits, and energies (which are nothing but spirits without a mind; or it could be said that spirits are nothing but energy with a mind), which you are going to manipulate. And we can manipulate it because the veil is so thin, and humans are so excellent, that it is hard not to manipulate it.

So you are going to cast a spell to end a friendship. You take some ribbon, which is black, the color of bindings. Again, this is symbolic – most metaphysical bindings are not black at all. And then, the real magic is about to begin.

When you use your words (and all words are magical, and everything you say and do is a force of magic), and your actions, and focus intently on the metaphysical reality around you, it is just like tapping in to the Matrix. And yes, everything you say and do and think is a force of magic, which is why it’s pretty vital to be in control of yourself if you do magic. This can be an anxiety-inducing thought for some, who want to say and think and do whatever they want, and then still lead the special life they want to live. Well, it doesn’t work that way. If you want to be a good person, it starts with good actions and good thoughts. If you want to be a prosperous person, it means focusing on prosperity and not worries of debt. A spell is just a hyperfocused laser of intent, but intent is always radiating out of you like gentle waves in an ocean. But I digress.

When you focus on the metaphysical reality around you, and truly believe you are interacting with the metaphysical using your physical symbols, then true magic really begins. And when you, with your iron will and laser focus, turn that ribbon in your hands in to the bond of friendship, the magic really starts. And when you snip it with silver scissors, the metaphysical bond is also snipped in half.

This essay is called “how to do magic.” So here is how to do magic:

Come up with a working model of magic that makes sense to you. One that, when followed, improves your power and understanding of the universe.

Use physical objects to represent the metaphysical, and meditate, focus, or enter a trance state or a frenzy until you can truly believe that what you are holding IS the metaphysical energy or spirit.

Carry out acts on your physical objects that symbolically represent what you want to happen in the real world.

Sit back, relax, and reward yourself with a smoothie.

The missing link I never found was linking the metaphysical to the physical, and causing my physical objects to become the metaphysical spirit or energy. Once I discovered that, everything fell in to place and I became a much better sorceress for it.

I made a discord in the past, about a year and a half ago, and if I’m honest, it’s a little outdated as a server. A friend of mine helped me get my steam back & build a new server with an entirely new concept that I think witches and baby witches will love!!!

Our new server is based around learning. Teachers with a background in magic and a passion for sharing their knowledge with others are at the tip of your fingers 💞 It can be incredibly hard to find valuable information on witchcraft, and it can be hard to find it for FREE, too. Our server is free to join, and no complicated application is needed for people to join. Simply decide that you want to learn, and you’re in!

Well, and be 18+ too.

For legal reasons we cannot teach witchcraft/religion to minors. I know it’s a shame but it can’t be helped!
