This is from my other account. I'm gonna be grabbing stuff off this one, then I'm gonna delete this profile in the next few days.

It's been a few months since my update about my mom dying. I haven't been on Tumblr since then, so I wanted to give an update. I'm doing ok, not 100%, but I don't think I'll ever be. I'm still living at home with my dad. He's doing ok as can be. We have Mom's ashes at home and Dad talks to her every night. It's especially helped having our two cats. We would be lost without them.

I did get a job at the school I actually went to. I'm working as a sub in the cafeteria and a sub aide, both I really enjoy. Though about 3 weeks ago I got the flu, which was not fun. And I'm still dealing with a lingering cough.

I do really want to try to start writing again, so I'm hoping to get started soon. I'm gonna look up some prompts to get restarted.

Also, I've been reading books a lot, so if anyone has suggestions for their favorite books, I'd love to check them out.

I do plan to start writing again, but I'm going through a lot right now. Since the beginning of the year, my dad and I have been dealing with my mom going through the beginning stages of dementia. On June 24, mom's dementia got bad to the point I had a panic attack. We found out mom also had a UTI, which if you know anything about UTIs they can cause dementia like symptoms. Though mom did have dementia. She was doing OK to the point that they took her to a nursing home on July 3. Then on the night of July 7, me and dad got a call that they couldn't get mom's blood sugar up, it was at 40. Well we took her back to the hospital. We found out at 4 in the morning on July 8, we found out mom's kidneys failed and there was blood in her stomach. We would be lucky if she made it more than 24 hours. We called in my brother & sister-in-law and my sister in. We had a DNR and chose to do comfort, so they were giving her morphine every 30 minutes to an hour. My mom died at 3:50 that afternoon surrounded by me, my dad, my brother, sister-in-law, my oldest nephew, and his girlfriend. So right now I'm going through a rough time.
