This scene shows the most intense fight between Agron and Nasir, regarding Castus. Just before Agron told him not to raise hackle, he spoke of commanding Nasir, and Nasir objected to ever being commanded and not placing a collar around his neck for Agron. The requested analysis was for the moment that Nasir turns his head. I understand that this scene had a lot of people questioning Agron’s word choice and deeming him as being “controlling”. Please note, I am in the process of addressing this claim in a separate ask with evidenced to counter it, but for the time being, will focus on this moment. If you look carefully at Nasir’s expression, it twitches a little. I think his anger comes from the raised emotions of being told what to do when Agron told him of his “command”, rather than a submissive position. I think he is just extremely hurt, and angry that Agron believes he betrayed his trust, as oppose to regarding Agron as a dominus or someone controlling towards him. In the moment that immediately follows, Nasir locks eyes with Agron, intensely looking right at him once Nasir has regained his composure. And that is truly what I think this moment is. Agron is telling him to lower his voice so not to draw attention, and I think Nasir needs to look away for a moment to control his emotions, rather than looking at the source of them aka Agron. Nasir needs that moment to compose himself, because looking at the man himself who prompted the strong reaction, is only going to fuel him further. So Nasir takes that moment, looks away, and when meeting Agron’s gaze once more, is more stoic and ready for the conversation. And that twitch in Nasir’s expression, I believe is his attempt to bite back more raised words. Because he does not shift his stance, or recoil; he does not avert his gaze for long. He stands strong on his point and his defense, displaying his strength.
