POSTERS
Our tour of the Atlantic Northeast starts tomorrow, and we've got posters hot off the presses.  Check out the artwork below, and mark one of those dates on your calendar while you're at it.  If you live north of the Mason-Dixon Line ... we'll be in a city near you.  Sorry, Johnny Reb.  We'll plan a trip to the dirty south real soon.

We've been selected as one of the best bands on Bandcamp by the aptly named BESTOFBANDCAMP.COM.  We haven't listened to every band on Bandcamp, but we suspect it's probably true.
Thanks BOBC dot com!

STAGEMATES
No, STAGEMATES is not a band.  We've been checking out all the bands we'll be playing with while we're out on tour, and thought it only fitting to make a playlist of our favorite tracks.  The result is a rather eclectic collection of tunes that will take your earholes on a magical journey.  You like vibraphone?  Check.  Post-Punk Screamo Metal?  We got ya covered.  There's something for everyone here, so strap in and enjoy this little taste of what March will bring.
Across The Prairie - A Viberatto
Headphones - I Have Ears
Your Thread - My Roaring Twenties
Local News - Ravi Shavi
Bad News Broski - Vintage Kicks
Too Good For Gold - Cannons
Push Me, Dear - Dressed Like Stolen Cars
Jackalyn - Welter
Rainbowspaceshuttleman - The Chelsea Kills
Rearview - Great Ceaser

Folks, the Impaler hath spoken, and we like what he had to say(eth).  I'd like to think we're not the MOST vain band in the world, but it's never a bad thing to find that people are digging what you do.  We made this record first and foremost for ourselves, so the continued influx of positivity surrounding it is something we hoped for but certainly couldn't expect.
"I want the the the world to run, not walk, to wherever the world goes these days to purchase new music and get this album ...  an adventure that leaves its listeners with no choice but to play play play it over and over and over again."
Thanks to The Impaler Speaks for this writeup.  Click through for the full review.

Dove posso trovare la farmacia?  Saluta John da parte mia!  Buon compleanno!
Nice, right?  We've been working on our Italian ever since we scored a sweet write-up in Italy's Enquire Magazine.  Of course, we can't actually read what they said about us, but a quick pass through Google Translator cleared the whole thing up.  We're confident in the fact that Italy does not hate us.  In fact, it appears as if they think we're pretty swell, assuming it's safe to gauge an entire nation's attitude on a single on-line publication.
Here's what Google says The Italians say about us.
"Enquire put the turbo looking for other "plays fast." The blogosphere is full of names unknown to most people, such as the The The The Thunder. This time we move to Seattle (with the occasional foray to NYC), wearing a pair of headphones that sound post-punk pure and strictly lo-fi. The formula is always the same: a few more like on Facebook, but "great great great" quality. The The The The Thunder confirm our rule, with an album released almost a year ago and a new single, It's Not the End of the World (It Just Feels That Way), published last month. The privilege of being among the few who already know this band is the fact that All At Once, the debut album, is a work of unparalleled depth. There we keep it tight, waiting for the future and well-deserved attention."
Grazie, Enquire Mag!  Noi voglio bene!

"Worth It" has been featured on this week's Tacoma Weekly Mixtape.  We put this song 2nd on our record, and it's number two on the mixtape as well.  I don't know what it is exactly, but there must be something at the core of this song screaming "two," and we're all subconsciously tuned in to it.  I wish I could say we did that on purpose, but we're not quite that good.  YET.
We'd also like to note that Duff McKagan is in the band featured right above us, which is particularly exciting for Julia, who has been known to shred a pretty sick "You Could Be Mine" on piano.
Here's the full tracklisting.
01. Walking Papers - Two Tickets
02. The The The Thunder - Worth It
03. Q Dot - State of the Union
04. Saucy Yoda - Mothership
05. Shotgun Kitchen - It's My Candy Now
06. Science - You and Rachel
07. Mighty High - Stoner Friendy
08. Roman Holiday - Fuel the Fire
09. He Whose Ox Is Gored - Cloven Hoof
10. Wreck - Cold Blood
11. Argonaut - Unicorns and Hatchets

WE'RE ALL STILL HERE
Well, the Mayan Doomsday has passed and we're all still here.  All the better for us since the song we wrote about the not end of the world has garnered some praise over the last couple weeks.
"It's Not The End Of The World (It Just Feels That Way)" has been chosen as the Song of the Week by blogs Another Rainy Saturday and Secretly-Important.  The song also saw airplay on Portland's KZME a mere hour after completion of its final mix.
There is clearly a lesson in opportunism in there somewhere.

We wrote this song last night In honor of the Mayan Doomsday. It was recorded in our respective living rooms, lo-fi, in about three hours, on two coasts, so we could get it done in time for the end of the world.  Hope you enjoy it more than the apocalypse.

The Faint have been on our playlist this week, after a truly impressive performance at NY's Terminal 5.  Putting their hiatus on hiatus, the band performed their classic record Danse Macabre in its entirety, as well as fan favorites like "Desperate Guys," and "The Geeks Were Right."
Our favorite tracks from Danse Macabre are listed below.  Put your dancing shoes on and check that shit out.

JONATHAN RICHMAN
Jonathan Richman has been on our playlist all week after a spectacular performance at Seattle's Tractor Tavern.  We'd love to link to his website but he doesn't actually have one.  We did however find his record label, who offered this adorable little nugget:
"Please note that Jonathan Richman does not have any direct involvement with the Vapor Records website and does not participate in the internet on any level."
Amazing.
The record we've found ourselves listening to most is Having A Party With Jonathan Richman.
Add it to your own playlist if you're in the mood for something smart that doesn't take itself too seriously.  Also, you can dance to it.  A couple of our favorite tracks listed below.
The Girl Stands Up To Me Now
My Career as a Homewrecker

THE PERFECT BLENDSHIP
We met a lot of people along our travels in the pacific northwest, many of whose names and faces have admittedly faded into the ether of our collective consciousness.  But then there are some who have managed to affix themselves rather permanently in our memory, leaving their mark in tangible (and often weird) ways.
There was the guy at the thai restaurant in Oregon who passive-aggressively indicated that we may have been talking too loud for his approval.  The drug addict behind Le Voyeur in Olympia who repeatedly asked us to pop our trunk.  And who could forget that  kid at Bombs Away Cafe who totally wanted to fight Nick.  (It's okay, they worked it out.)
And though it tends to be the awkward encounters that stick with us more vividly, we have also been fortunate enough to find ourselves with unexpected new friends, which can often be the best kind.
With that said we'd like to pimp out a couple of our new friends, not because they're our friends, but because they're just good at what they do.
Dr. Darles Charwin hosts the Beat Surrender on KBVR 88.7 in Corvallis.  From The Sylvers to The Staple Singers, The Beat Surrender is your one-stop shop for Soul.  Trust us, the good doctor knows his shit.  Even at his very drunkest he's smarter than you, so tune in to The Beat Surrender and let him take you to school.
Kurt "DJ K-Hurtz" Hagan hosts The Rusty Trombone Show on KBVR, on which you could hear anything from The Kinks to The Arctic Monkeys, Beck to Iggy and The Stooges.  Tune in at the right time and you may even hear us.  And as if those playlists weren't badass enough, we witnessed Kurt devouring his first boilermaker like a BOSS, and it was way more rock'n'roll than anything we did that night.

This is Matt.
Back in June when we played our first show in the heart of Brooklyn, we were fortunate enough to be photographed by him.  Here's proof:
And we're in good company because if you follow the link you'll see that Mr. Schuchman has also photographed the likes of Beck, David Byrne, Cold War Kids, Girl Talk, and so on and so on and so on.  The point is the kid knows his way around a camera.  Got it?
And if that wasn't good enough, Show-Off also writes film reviews that are funny, informative, AND relevant.  We didn't believe it either, but here, see for yourself:

So help a brother out and support Matt's page at See|Me.  See those little hearts all over the place?  Click the shit out of those things and Matt could win a $125,000 grant.  And honestly, aren't you just a little bit curious to see what he'd do with that kind of money?
