Flashbacks Of The Quarantine Era - The Underestimator Mixtapes
This newest addition in The Underestimator Mixtapes series is the first and only one in the series that's not downloadable but only uploaded on Mixcloud and there's a perfectly good reason for this.
It's compiled by punk /hardcore /indie /garage rock /pop demos, covers, album tracks or reworks of older stuff, all released during the quarantine isolation of the Covid-19 era (2020-21), songs born of frustration or inspiration from artists channelling their creativity to music despite the unprecedented challenges the pandemic has brought upon society and people, so it's only natural that these tracks, endorsed by The Underestimator blog, are only available for online streaming and promoted by offering the available Facebook /Instagram or Bandcamp links for everyone to track down the songs and buy the music.
There's probably gonna be a pt. 2 in the near future since the songs were too many to be included in one file but for now, enjoy the music and go buy it from the artists themselves.

The Underestimator Mixtapes - “Live Wire”
There’re several things that transform a live recording into a legendary moment in time. In the words of Tim Chester of NME Magazine:
"... setlist, sound quality, on-stage banter, crowd reaction, and a palpable sense of time and place. The best live albums comprise most or all of these, and transport you directly to the front of the crowd by the opening few moments. They give you a real sense of being there, from the intros ... to the crowd noises ... and the songs themselves. They’re moments in time, frozen for ever, enjoyed by a lucky few live but appreciated by millions ever after..."
This mixtape is a two-hours set of fave live recordings, including notorious live moments in the history of punk, such as Iggy & The Stooges performing their very last concert in 1974 with Iggy going: “…Thank you very much to the person who threw this glass bottle at my head, it nearly killed me, but you missed again, so you have to keep trying next week!…” and the Ramones’ 1977 New Year's Eve performance at The Rainbow Theatre in London, which is considered one of the best live albums ever, as well as some rare bootleg gems, such as The Dils and Crime, both covering Velvet Undergound tracks back in the day, or Television in 1975 at CBGB's covering The 13th Floor Elevators with extreme craftsmanship, gradually building up tension till the overwhelming outburst that swirls away their Velvet Undergound roots, `60s psych punk and proto-punk hints of the upcoming late-`70s New York punk scene.
Keep in mind that you may have to adjust the volume on some bootlegs, but hey, who hasn’t attended a gig with bad sound!
