hello! fellow nirvana fan THAT SONG DID NOT BELONG IN THE SLIGHTEST, it wasn't the topic or vibe of the film, like just bc you slow down and make a song more intense doesn't make it the perfect soundtrack 😭 I was at the cinema just listening and going like ?? WHY ??

LITERALLY IT WAS SO AWFUL I STILL HAVEN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE BC OF IT. I saw someone say like oh it's a symbol of how she didn't get to experience the stereotypical american teenager life blah blah like first of all the song isn't like. meant to glorify the american teen stereotype it reads pretty clearly as a mockery of it and second of all slowing it down and having it sung in cursive is so like. predictable, I guess the word is? like IF you're going to use smells like teen spirit don't be a coward about it!!! put the whole thing in!!!! give us some dissonance!!!!!

#or use the top of the pops version what who said that #also not to be sick or insane but like. leave it to marvel to take a grunge song and give it the cute sanitized cinematic treatment #like dc also bad but i will say that them using something in the way actually like. fits better with that kind of tone #it lends itself a lot better to the cinematic style esp with the orchestration they use for it #also i like to hear mr cobain gently humming what can i say #and for the record nothing wrong with the person who sings the black widow version i'm sure they're very sweet #and none of this is their fault from what i read they're p much unknown and marvel just kind of approached them #and like you can't say no to that kind of money and exposure not in this economy #i just think marvel should die #hi this turned into a longer post than expected i have become very passionate abt nirvana in the past few months idk if you can tell
