I didn’t think it was possible, but Viv managed to find a way to make me hate her writing more than I already did.
Great job Viv.

No, I have no interest in watching the remainder of Helluva Boss season two.
I can tolerate a bad adult cartoon, trust me, I've sat through plenty of godawful shows. But Helluva Boss is one of those rare shows that genuinely keeps finding new ways to piss me off.
It'd be one thing if the show was flawed but had some positive aspects to balance out those flaws, but it just doesn't.
Yeah, the animation is pretty, but so what? That doesn't change the fact that the writing is awful beyond belief.
And look, I'm not one of those guys who's all like "Ugh, this sucks. I could do better" because I understand that getting any project off the ground isn't a simple thing to achieve. It's a miracle that half the projects that get green lit see the light of day.
So no, I'm not "jealous" of Viv, I just think this show is terrible.
The fact that the entire narrative now revolves around Stolas is baffling. I get that shows evolve overtime, but having everything revolve around Stolas and his relationship with Blitzo kind of makes me wonder why Viv even bothered with the assassins for hire pitch.
But then again, Viv is constantly giving up on her main story premises in favor of ship teasing and fan service.
Remember when Hazbin Hotel was supposed to be about a hotel that sinners would go to to get redeemed? Because Viv doesn't!
Furthermore, unlike Hazbin Hotel, I don't think Helluva Boss' narrative could be salvaged by other writers. As we're two seasons in and the Stolas narrative doesn't leave much room for of an endgame.
All the villains are so cartoonishly evil and one note that it's tough to see any of them as a threat. There is never a point where you truly believe that Stolas and Blitzo won't end up together by the end and the series doesn't seem to be building up towards anything.
Oh, and for any Viv fan who's going to respond with the "Don't like it don't watch" argument in the comments and reblogs, I just want to say that you should apply that argument to all the shows and movies that you dislike.
It's easy to use that argument when it comes to defending shows you like from criticism, but we all know you don't do the same for the stuff you hate.

Jensen Ackles dodges every shipping question he gets.
Misha Collins is a chaos gremlin who has zero fucks to give.
They’re not the same.

What Drake Bell went through was absolutely horrific and I do commend him for speaking out, but that doesn't excuse the fact that he took advantage of two underage girls. One of whom was his ex-girlfriend Melissa Lingafelt, who he was dating back when he was 20 and she was 16.
Two things can be true, Bell should be commended for speaking out, but his disgusting behavior shouldn't be swept under the rug.
His victims deserve closure as well.

What makes this even more fucked up is that the college administrators and cops don’t consider this hate speech.
But if you show up to a Pro Palestine rally on campus, you will get arrested without a hint of hesitation.

Wonder how long before the Israeli media tries to claim that these folks were affiliated with Hanas.

Snarky comments aside, I legitimately never thought I would live long enough to see folks unironically defend a genocide with sadistic glee.
Like I said before, it’s kind of shocking how folks who are usually pretty liberal when it comes to most political issues are going full mask off right now.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s obvious that a lot of these folks always had fucked up beliefs, but the difference between then and now is that they aren’t scared of not saying the quiet parts out loud anymore.
It’s legitimately scary being an Arab right now, watching anti Arab racism become normalized in the news and social media fills me with a sense of dread.
Because I just know that a lot of western countries are going to start passing racist anti Arab discrimination laws and labeling anyone who doesn’t comply a terrorist.
Hell, voicing your support for Palestine in public is now a punishable offense in a lot of western countries.
The future is fucking bleak, but please don’t stop talking about Palestine.

Yeah, the Knuckles series would have been a hell of a lot better if it was actually about Knuckles. But instead someone over at Paramount thought it would be a great idea to center the whole thing around Wade. You know, the annoying comic relief guy who barely had any screen time in the movies?
Such a waste of potential.

Watching all these college students stand up to fascist cops is truly inspiring.
As a millennial, I get why folks who are around my age would want to roll their eyes at the newer generation.
But I feel like this generation is well aware of the fact that their government is feeding them absolute garbage when it comes to what’s happening in Palestine.
They see right through the bullshit and they’re like “Fuck you, we’re not going to stay quiet about this.”

Finding out that the Knuckles series is just a six hour long Doritos commercial had me howling with laughter.

This is what the modern internet has become, a rancid cesspool where troglodytes wish ill upon anyone who works on anything that they hate.
And the fact that this type of deranged behavior is being normalized is fucking horrifying.

As an Arab who has been talking about what’s been happening in Palestine since October, it’s infuriating watching other Arabs pretend like any of our governments have done fuck all to end this genocide.
You’ll see various Arab politicians condemn Israel, but they’re not going to do anything that’s actually helpful. Because fuck forbid we end up alienating the US government by pushing for a ceasefire, am I right?
Don’t sit there and try to lecture me on “Arab solidarity” when you’ve done fuck all to help out in any meaningful way.

Considering how the Israeli government have done all they can to make sure that Palestinians aren’t able to access the internet, it’s a legitimate miracle that the rest of the world is even aware of what is currently happening in Palestine.

I wasn't going to address this, because every time I criticize Brandon Rogers for saying something stupid at a con I get a couple of hardcore fans yelling at me in the replies and reblogs. But I decided to make an exception because this is sad even for him.
No, I don't have a problem with the joke itself. Trust me, as someone who is old enough to remember Rogers' old Vine skits, this joke is pretty tame compared to his older stuff.
The issue here is that he's clearly throwing Octavia under the bus because the character isn't well liked among the hardcore Stolitz fans. As a lot of them hate her for getting in the way of their precious ship.
Now, I'm not the type of person who gets involved in shipping discourse (Because it's stupid) but I find it funny how Rogers is trying to score brownie points with the Stolitz crowd. Because fuck forbid anybody who works on this show not validate the fandbase's toxic behavior when it comes to shipping, am I right?
It's annoying how Viv and her inner circle will constantly defend Stolitz against criticism, but they'll throw every other character and ship under the bus.
I guarantee you that if you went up to Viv or Brandon at a con and said that you liked a ship or character that they disliked, they would spend the rest of the con side eyeing you.

Props to the writers for finding a way of making Nathan's reunion with Cyclops and Jean just as heart wrenching as his reunion with his mother.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t the US government always cracked down on leftist protests? I remember watching a documentary about the Occupy Wall Street protests of 2011 and I was genuinely shocked at how violent the NYPD were when it came to dealing with protesters.
I didn’t pay much attention to those protests at the time, but looking back at them now, they kind of feel like an eerie glimpse into what the political and social landscape would become.
Still, it is pretty fucked up how these colleges are cracking down on any Pro Palestine speech on campus. Seriously, the fact that the police are being called in to arrest students who are just sitting onside in tents is straight up draconian.
