Jason Todd is so special to me because imagine dying a hero. dying as a son. as someone who was loved. someone who will be missed. Jason Todd had a tragic end but his death meant something. People mourned for him. Gotham mourned for the fallen hero. He died being loved.

Only to come back scared and confused. Covered in rain and dirt. Taken in by people who had the sole intention turning him into a weapon, using him as a weapon.

Imagine having died and come back wrong. Died a hero but is now a monster. Or is he a victim? He does not know. Is he still loved? Does he still have a father? a home to come back to? It seems not. Imagine having died and returned to a home only to find that you are no longer needed. No longer a hero. No longer a son. Everything has changed. He has changed. Devolved. Because he is no longer a good soldier, is he? Who is he? Can't he go back? Return to his city, his home, as it was all those years ago? Can't he go back to his family? His dad? Did he ever have a dad? A father wouldn't have replaced him as quickly as his father did. maybe not then. And it is all so sad. but it is so unfair. why him? why is it always him?what did he do so wrong? what could possibly justify all the horrible things that had happened to him? why was he so undeserving of happiness? of peace?

Thinking about Jason Todd coming back home from patrol with Bruce. He’s tired but the adrenaline is still pumping and he can’t sleep so he wanders the long dark corridors of the manor and finds the library. And he curls up in a big wing back chair and begins to read.

In the morning Alfred and Bruce find him asleep in the chair with an open copy of The Hobbit in his lap….

Sometimes they don't even realise that That's Tim Drake Wayne. He's a cute, skrungly Thing™ that you could either fix or make worse depending on your romantic daydreams.
