every day is a normal day until I am reminded of the utter look of shock on Subaru’s face when he realizes that the story he had told himself over the last, what? 9 years? was not necessarily entirely true…
“I tried to kill you from the bottom of my heart. I tried to live erasing your existence from my mind. But I couldn’t. Even if you thought I was just a stone, even if it didn’t feel like stepping on a withered branch… and still. That’s why I wanted to be killed by you.”
it’s a nice reminder that the stories that we tell ourselves to make meaning about what happens to us aren’t always necessarily the absolute truth, but a limited version of reality based on our own mental biases.

Tokyo Babylon Drama CD : Hokuto’s tea party
Listen to it HERE! It’s a drama cd that came with the limited edition of Tokyo Babylon OVA2. There’s probably an English translation out there somewhere but I haven’t seen it myself. It’s generally a Hokuto-focused story where she hosted a tea party for Subaru and Seishirou and end up making friend with a girl when she step out for milk.
Since this tumblr focus on SeiSub so I will just focus on these two’s fun moments. Here’s a quick sketch I did for one of the moments (excuse the roughness, I haven’t draw for a long while):
Translation of the SeiSu part:
Seishirou and Subaru chatted among themselves during the tea party.
Hokuto: (slap table)What are you two doing getting all lovey-dovey behind my back!
Subaru: lovey-dovey??? What?? We weren’t…
Seishirou: exactly Hokuto-Chan. we weren’t being lovey-dovey. Being lovey-Dovey would be more like…
Subaru: ehhhhhhh….Seishirou-San….wait…
Seishirou: …where I lay Subaru-kun down on the floor and I look at him when I’m on the top.
Subaru: (panicking) ahh..that is…wait…
Hokuto: lovey-dovey should be more cute, and have a more innocent feel to it. This is just pure sexual situation.
Subaru: Sei…Seishirou-San…Ahh…that is…ah…
Seishirou: (getting up from Subaru and press down a little too hard) ah, sorry, was i too heavy?
Subaru: no…not at all
Seishirou: for Subaru’s well being sake, tonight I will start doing more push up excercises.
Subaru: push up? what does push up have to do with this situation….
seishirou: next time, I’d like to demonstrate to you in person.
Hokuto: Subaru doesn’t understand these kind of adult talk.
seishirou: ahahaha
Skipping…Hokuto found out she ran out of milk (when requested by Subaru) and so she set out to get some.
Hokuto: (open door) ok I’m going.
Seishirou: even its just a cup of tea, as long as it’s Subaru’s happiness she will make it happen. What a nice sister you have.
Subaru: Seishirou-San
Hokuto: (suddenly came back and open door) one thing, while I’m not here do not force Subaru into doing weird thing, Sei-chan.
Seishirou: oh, you got me…ahahaha
Skipping…
Hokuto accidentally bump into a girl and injuried her leg. a large chunk of the drama is between the two girls.
Seishirou: hokuto-Chan…took so long.
Subaru: she said she accidentally injured a girl. I hope it’s ok…
Seishirou: she just called and said she is bringing the girl back here on a bicycle. I should have pick them up.
Subaru: if only if I didn’t say I wanted milk…
Seishirou: Subaru-Kun always think everything is his fault. In that case the mailbox is too red, too much raining recently, the economy is in recession…are these all your fault too?
Subaru: ah..I don’t mean it that way.
Seishirou : Subaru-Kun, you are so gentle and tender.
Subaru: Seishirou-San
Seishirou: (switch to sexy low voice) Subaru-kun (moving close to subaru)
Hokuto: heyyyy!!!! I told you not to do pervy things when I’m not here!!!!
Subaru: Hokuto-Chan!
Seishirou: ahahaha, welcome back Hokuto-Chan.
Skipping…
Hokuto introduces her new friend to Subaru and Seishirou.
Hokuto: he’s the weird Veterinarian-San I told you about.
Seishirou: am I weird?
Hokuto: you aren’t self-aware?
Seishirou: completely not.
The drama end with the girl introducing herself with her name cut off (like in “smile”).
Based on some of Hokuto’s conversation to the girl, this story seems to happen right before the eye incident. Probably around the same time as “box”.

Seishirou likes hands. Or perhaps just Subaru.
Did anyone else notice that Seishirou doesn’t want to let go of Subaru’s hand?
1) Seishirou grabs Subaru’s hand because that’s what Seishirou does.
2) Subaru gets annoyed like the moody little angst muffin he is and tries to move away though he wants it
3) Seishirou refuses to let go of Subaru’s hand like the possessive bastard boyfriend he is.
Moral? Subaru Sumeragi has horrible taste in men. But whoever knew Sei-chan was the hand holding type?
But more importantly, nine years later, adult-Subaru is still a lot shorter than Seishirou

Seisub certainly contains several CLAMP love tropes, at this point I think it doesn't even make sense whether someone are okay with it or not, it's just...it's there and it's a painfully true love between them.
Recall the kiss on the hair that Seishirou recreated with the bandages, he was unhappy and upset with that particular wound/mark but still held that bandage so delicately because it came from Subaru.
Likewise Subaru must have mixed thoughts regarding his new eye, but just like Fuuma said, that person is still there and Subaru will treasure him as such.
(I think that's precisely why he was in the old Sakurazukamori's house looking for any trace of Seishirou that was left there and he got more than that).
Plus doing some research on the image of Subaru and Seishirou looking at each other with deep longing while Seishirou "crowned" him, apparently that it is based on the painting of Napoleon crowning his consort (in this case his empress) breaking protocol and doing it himself. LOL. (that's so in character).

Well, to be fair I think what would surprise anyone is the fact that Seishirou was strangely specific... asking if Subaru still lives in the same place, about his dream of working in a zoo, about his grandmother...
He doesn't just remember, he remember almost everything! and it has been 9 years!
Seishirou is so ridiculously contradictory! he's so " push and pull" in their interaction, I didn't care about anyone but hey, I'll list a lot of personal things I remember about you, but I dont have anyone special... (he's no good at even fooling himself) orz.
Also it would have been interesting if that scene had been included in the manga, at least to complemented the "you never give me the words I expect to hear from you" very well.
I'll never be over how in CD drama when they first met after 9 years and Seishirou started asking Subaru about personal stuff (such as how was school) before battle, Subaru asked suprisedly "you... remember me?"
