#watching the anime really reminded me why I liked kaiju no 8 so much at the beginning #it’s so fun and goofy in a way the manga hasn’t been for a while now #just devolving into an absolutely bog standard Shonen battle series #it’ll be interesting to see what happens now with series like MHA and JJK kinda just puttering out #especially since chainsawman part 1 is right there as the poster child of having a story to tell telling it and then concluding the story #part 2 is very much its own thing and you can tell the pacing is way more relaxed but it’s a romcom so that’s allowed #and name a better manga protagonist than Asa mitaka my beloved you will not win this
