THE SASEBO SLASHING CASE - -
A lot of people playing Corpse Party find the story of 7 years old schoolgirl Sachiko murdering other children with scissors quite impossible. Actually, 7 years old is a little too young I guess (though I won’t be so sure), but there was this 11 years old murder case that we can somehow link to Sachiko’ Story : The Sasebo Slashing. An 11-year-old girl led a fellow sixth-grader to an empty classroom during their lunch hour, slit her neck and arms with a box-cutter, and left her to bleed to death. The victim, Satomi Mitarai, 12 years old, have been killed on June, 1, 2004 in Sasebo Elementary School, Nagasaki.

The Killer real name has not been released to the press on per Japanese legal procedures prohibiting the identification of Juvenile offenders, media call her “Girl A”, but she’s soon referred by the internet community as “Nevada-tan"  because a class photograph showed a girl believed to be her wearing a University of Nevada, Reno sweatshirt. A few day after the Sasebo exposure to the media, a reportage showing her drawings accidentally revealed her name. She signed all of her drawings Tsuji Natsumi.
Tumblr media
Tsuji Natsumi is described as a sort of nerd, and well versed into the horror culture (she read horror manga such as ”Battle Royale“ in which Highschool Student have to kill their classmates). "She became changed by the internet” says her mother. She began to lock herself away, spending all of her time on the internet, she grew an affinity for sites such as “The Red Room” . She said that Red Room, Battle Royale and mostly a television show entitled; “Monday Mystery Theatre”, a Korean drama where people were being killed quickly and effectively with a retractable box cutter knife such as the one used for the real murder inspired her for murdering Satomi. She developped a further lust for other urban myth. Finally, a girl from her school named Satomi Mitarai found her online presence and they became friends IRL (in real life). Few weeks later, Satomi posted, either on a forum or on Tsuji’s page, a remark about her being “heavy” (With internet, Natsumi Tsuji lost interest in being cute). As she was trying to keep an internet image for herself for all her neckbeard fans, Natsumi Tsuji requested and pressed for Satomi to “take it back”. Satomi refused, calling her “pretentious”. After these events, Tsuji got in a lot of trouble at school for punching and kicking people, as well as pushing them up against walls. Before the murder of Satomi, Tsuji Natsumi already had threatened a boy with a box cutter knife which was dismissed by teachers.
On Tuesday, June 1st, 2004, at Sasebo Elementary School, Nevada led Satomi into an empty room during lunch, where she sat her in a chair, telling Satomi she was going to die. Despite this, Satomi didn’t run. She removed the glasses from Satomi’s face and set them on a nearby desk. Nevada then asked her if she would like a towel over her eyes. When Satomi refused, Tsuji put one hand over her eyes, pulled out a box cutter and slit Satomi’s throat. She also slit her wrists
With a not so epic cry of “I have done something bad”, she led her teacher to the body, crying on the way. By the time the ambulance arrived, Satomi’s heart had failed from blood loss. After the events, Natsumi Tsuji have been sent to be institutionalized in a Tochigi Prefecture Juvenile Hall.
She’s sent to be released this year (2013) around September and should be 20 years old now.

[The Non resistance of Satomi is still intriguing me, I think she’d been also versed into horror culture and thought of this as a game ? Could she have been part of the entire thing ? I’m more thinking a game which went wrong than a real murder witth children who couldn’t make difference between reality and fiction. I don’t think that Nevada-tan would murder again, since it was not out of madness, she gave a motive (“she offended me and hurted my feelings”), unlike the Kobe murder (I’ll make soon an article about this case). It seems incommensurate to kill for this reason, but in a Children mind which was under horror culture influence, I guess it was enough and seemed justified. I think that now she grew up, she won’t murder again, besides, she already expressed remorse right after the murder and regretted to not “have think more”, which comfort my vision of a game which went wrong. ]                                       But I may be mistaken
