Kind of hilarious to me how poorly the title "Mob Psycho 100" localized to English-speaking areas. To someone whose first language is English, it scans as:
Mob (Yakuza, Mafia)
Psycho (violent person with "crazy" behaviors)
Thus: a particularly violent member of organized crime.
But in Japanese it scans as:
Mob (background characters in crowd scenes in manga or anime)
Psycho (short for psychic)
Thus: a psychic who looks/acts like someone you'd never pick out of a crowd scene in a comic.

one time i had a dream that tiktok users deemed “kid” as a slur and that you HAD to refer to them as minors otherwise you would get harassed and threatened with doxxing. you couldn’t say “when i was a kid” anymore for example you HAD to say “when i was a minor” instead

you're going about your normal day when, suddenly, surprise! you've been pokémon mystery dungeon'd!
unfortunately, due to budget cuts, the pokémon assigning quiz has been canceled. instead, you must spin THE WHEEL, assigning you a random, unevolved, non-legendary and non-mythical pokémon. you must now go on some sort of world-saving adventure as this pokémon. good luck!
tell me in the tags what you rolled, and how you feel about it - for bonus points, you can spin the wheel again for (or just take your pick of) a pokémon to be your partner.
bonus rules:
you're not shiny unless the wheel tells you you're shiny
take your pick of regional forms and evolutions (for example, if you roll vulpix, it's up to you whether that means normal or alolan vulpix)
apply whatever logic you like with regards to gender
have fun and be yourself!

can you set up a poll for a fake new color to be added to the color wheel like the other ask jokingly suggested? the percentages of RGB can be converted to figure out what the color would be.

Every time I like or reblog a post, I leave a little bit of man residue on it
Every time I reply or add commentary to a reblog, that’s five times as much man residue
Me following your blog means your whole blog has man residue
I’m spreading it everywhere

I must not mock Gen Alpha. Mocking Gen Alpha is the mind killer. Mocking Gen Alpha is the little-death that brings total generational solidarity obliteration. I will engage with Gen Alpha lovingly. I will permit them to be cringe. And when they grow up I will turn my eye to their accomplishments. Where mocking has gone there will be nothing. Only generational solidarity remains

Robot 'Cop Dog' - An Analysis of Vulnerabilities
Tumblr media Tumblr media
at a few of my lovely and not at all suspiciously named mutuals (@whoops-thats-on-fire and @kleptomatic) request - Here's the post on the vulnerabilities of Boston Dynamics' Cop Robo-Dog
(You can read more abt it here - the thread that inspired this post!)
Gotta get this out of the way first - this is a cybersecurity analysis for educational purposes only, based on only publicly available information. Do not do crime >:(
FORCED E-STOP
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The E-stop is a failsafe stop, that, if the robot stops 'talking' to its controlling computer, will shut it down. Up till recently, it wasn't optional, but apparently in the newest software update, they made it possible to disable. (wtf)
If the e-stop is configured, which any responsible roboticist would set up, the robot could be forced to shut down. The connected computer could be networked with several ways, but all but the wired connection could be defeated by a faraday cage.
Tumblr media
a faraday cage is basically a wire mesh with a smaller 'mesh' than the physical size of the radio waves that want to pass through, so throwing a fine metal net or cloth with wires woven in (like the shit they use for fencing jackets) should cut the communication with the base station.
if the e-stop isn't enabled, this loss of network would still result in a blocking of new 'commands' for the robot, which may stop it quickly, or if it was programmed to continue along some predefined command, may not.
SENSOR OCCLUSION
The bot has cameras in the red circles and the option to add a LIDAR on top, in the green circles. The default cameras are in pairs, two pairs on the front, one pair on each side, and one pair on the back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It depends on the software running on the robot (the buyer can program it) how many cameras have to be covered for the robot to stop operating, but it is common to write software to shut-down (or badly written software that malfunctions) when a major section of the field of view is occluded (say, the whole front, one side or the other)
Like vore-goblin (hella name bruh) suggested in the post that inspired this one, expanding foam would not just cover cameras and sensors, but it would also gunk up the joints, locking it up.)
and my last idea of throwing a metal mesh or fabric over top? If its thick enough to block cameras could also immobilize a robot to be scooped up (more or less - robots are chaotic and you'd need to mind the pinch points on the legs) safely without permanently destroying it.
some other things that tend to block cameras? fog or smoke - I could see one of these disabling one from a distance. gender reveal that bitch.
Tumblr media
there's way more i could say on this one but tbh this failure mode analysis of robots is starting to look too much like my day job so that's it for now. might add to this if there's interest
