vernon was born in west virginia, but always felt that the state was too small for his big dreams. so a mere week after graduating high school, he hoped on a bus to hollywood, wanting to see just what the city had to offer.

unlike many others before him he had no dreams of becoming a star, in fact the entertainment industry held no real pull for him, regarding it with suspicion due to the level of artifice associated with it. however he would end up falling into it's lap when he got job working an agent.

while working vernon was able to rub shoulders with the rich and beautiful, and found that he was something of a natural at it. due to his small stature and easy going nature, he wasn't regarded as a threat and he was able to network rather easily, and he especially became popular with the women he came across as, unlike many of his peers, he respected them and saw them as humans first.

when his boss retired, vernon jumped right into his shoes, becoming an agent in earnest, and a rather successful one. vernon was naturally shrewd and quickly learned how to be a manager as well as an agent so he could further ensure his clients got good deals, and when he got sick of seeing his clients get taken advantage off due to shitty contracts, he went on to study entertainment law and get a degree so that he could fight for his clients

just like before, vernon was popular with women and most of his clients were women as a result. it quickly became known that vernon would fight tooth and nail for his clients, and he would especially go to bat for the women when he felt they were being taken advantage of and in danger.

due to his job vernon quickly became aware of the predators in hollywood and worked hard to protect everyone he worked for from them, which would earn him some enemies. he attempted to blow the whistle on many of them many times but always met resistence. however he remained fiercely protective, and would often be on set if he knew someone dangerous was involved with a project so that his client would be safe.

after many years in hollywood, vernon finally retired and decided to move out to lakeview, where he had ended up once when he got lost. he remains in contact with all of his old clients, checking on them and making sure that they're doing well
