2 & 10 for Tybalt
2: Any interesting scars?
Tybalt would tell you she has none. After all, how could she? Only someone who gets hit gets a scar.
But she does have scars, hiding under her fur. Quite a few. Ones from childhood, ones from misadventures... quite a few from the zee beast that she broke her teeth on.
But the most interesting one is probably the one on her underbelly. She's made a lot of deals, you see. Exchanged a lot of things. She knows how to bargain in a way that always gets her what she wants, no strings attached. But there's still a cost, especially when you're trying to broker deals with your natural enemy.
10: How do their friends and family think of them?
Her family has disowned her, her country has exiled her and she has no friends she actually trusts other than the Timorous Corpse.
Oh, she has a lot of people she spends time with, a lot of people she knows, but honestly, she's really quite lonely. That's the problem with being the person who gets the better of everyone- everyone you got the better of would very much like you dead.
That said, you'd never find someone feasting more jovially under damocles' sword. She'll probably convince you the sword was her idea of decoration.

3, 5, 6, 9 for bev for the trauma asks >:3
Freddie youā€™re killing him!! itā€™s not that serious!
3. Have they died before?
Iā€™m still torn of if I want Bev to have temporarily died during the accident that killed his parents and returning, but if he didnā€™t die there, he did get put in the grave via fire poker thanks to @viric-dreams ā€˜s LT. Roberts in the general character interaction sandbox. Blackmailing tendances run in the family, as does the kind of hubris that makes you forget you can die. Plus getting murdered by your boss and waking up mid-getting your feet encased in concrete wasnā€™t exactly a fun experience.
Even if he died during that terrible accident, Bevā€™s completely blacked out the memory of the event - so Iā€™d consider the fire poker incident to be his first proper death. A big part of Bevā€™s character is how sheltered he is, so I couldnā€™t take away that first death juiciness by making it something too deep in the past.
5. Have they killed anyone? If they have would they kill again? If not would they kill at all?
Never directly before coming to London. The Grand Geode is a bad place to be on the bad side of, so thereā€™s probably been a few prisoners exploded by Beverleyā€™s experiments for ā€˜live testing purposesā€™, but thatā€™s all something thatā€™s veryā€¦ I donno, compartmentalized for him. He didnā€™t know those people - never had to look them in the eye, learn their names, anything like that. More pieces or data than people - he doesnā€™t think about it much.
In a similar vein, the question of would he kill again really does depend on method for him. In those same indirect methods (bombs/fires/etc) I honestly donā€™t think heā€™d really hesitate. Having to say, stab someone to death, though? A bit of a different story. Probably only in the most extreme of cirmstances.
6. Whatā€™s their greatest fear?
Failure. Thatā€™s it, really. To an extent Bev feels as if heā€™s already failed, which contributes a lot to his general state ofā€¦ well, youā€™ve seen the man.
9. Are they looking for someone to save them or do they think theyā€™re beyond saving?
Someone already tried to save him, and in return, he ruined their life. Beverley doesnā€™t think heā€™s ever going to get a second chance. All thatā€™s left is what heā€™s chosen, right? And he did make the right choice. Of course heā€™s beyond saving, he doesnā€™t need to be saved. Heā€™s right where heā€™s supposed to be. Right?

6 for the throuple
Letā€™s goooooo Throuple time!!
6. Whatā€™s their greatest fear?
Isobelā€™s greatest fear is probably being cut off from the Dawn Machine, or otherwise losing connection to it - after everything, the thought of returning to the dark is terrifying to her. On a more personal note, general isolation and the helplessness that brings is definitely up there for her. Isobel very much believes in the idea that no one can be truly independent, that everyone has to rely on others in order to survive on some level, and so the idea of being completely socially ostracized/isolated is especially horrifying.
Vincentā€™s biggest fear is losing Isobel, at any capacity. Behind his magnetic persona, his feelings about his wife arenā€™t exactly normal - falling closer to ā€œYou saved me from myself (read as: made sure I got my sense of self cooked out of me by the false god), so now Iā€™m yours and Iā€™ll do literally anything for you, because nothing I could ever do would equal the gift youā€™ve given me.ā€ Thenā€¦ what I would gloss as romantic love, personally? Heā€™s not right in the head about her. For the love of god, whatever you do: if youā€™re gonna kill these three, kill Vincent first.
Laurenceā€™s biggest fear is captivity! He was taken as a pseudo-prisoner of war during the war on hell and that has fucked him up for life. Heā€™s the kind of person to gnaw through a limb to get out of chains. All thatā€™s in addition to other Hell related fears - Devils, Flying insects, you get the picture. Iā€™m not sure if I would gloss this as a fear necessarily, but the period of depression Laurence had immediately post war is also something heā€™s desperate to never fall into again.

Although he dresses and presents fairly modestly in public, Jonesā€™ bedroom is needlessly elaborate and loaded with art and decorations. He also spares no expense (and honestly, probably overspends given what he earns) on some of the most luxurious sleeping and underclothes you can imagine. Heā€™d hate the idea of anyone knowing he has them, lest they think heā€™s trying to project wealth or status, but after spending so long in Newgate he really values those small luxuriesā€”the feel of silk on his skin, beautiful things to look at that serve no functional purpose, the ability to make decorative and fashion choices. The fact that only he knows about it makes it even sweeterā€”like a small secret, only he is privy to.

7 and 12 for Lewis
7. How easy is it to make them cry?
Inspector Lewis is very much caught in toxic masculinity. He was supposed to strong, and rational. Even back in the late victorian era, stoicism was expected. All of this compounded with his father's expectation of the man Lewis would grow to become, even long after his passing.
So it's not so much that Lewis doesn't cry, but rather, he doesn't exactly know how to, and doesn't think he's supposed to. Expressions of tears in front of others hasn't been done since he was a child. Alone, there are rare moments of frustration and agitation at his failures that may push him to the edge. But genuine emotional expression? Unheard of.
12. Do they have any self-destructive habits?
Lewis' whole existence is a self destructive habit.
In general he tends to be far to obsessed over things, to the detriment of his own health. Late nights with minimal sleep and many cups of coffee, refusing to take breaks or pause, obsessing over his failures until the bitter end.... this man doesnt know what he should quit, and hurts himself in the process too.

6 & 12 for Tamara & Jones, off meta picks today
- @zeebreezin
6. Whats their greatest fear?
For most of her life Tamara's greatest fear, at least on paper, was what lurks behind the mirror. Her brother's death is what cemented it as not just a boogeyman, but something real and dangerous and terrifying. She and Fingerkings do not get on. All of Parabola's creatures are on thin ice, with one eventual exception.
For Jones, it's returning to New Newgate. He's built up something of a life in London, and couldn't survive losing it all again. Losing those small comforts, the autonomy, the people.
12. Do they have any self-destructive habits?
Not as far as Tamara is aware.
Jones is incredibly risk-averse and has missed out on many opportunities because he's afraid that the outcome could backfire and harm him somehow. He'd call that tendency to freeze in important or difficult situations something self-destructive, because it often comes back to bite him later when he has regrets, and wishes he could be free of it.

9 and 11 for y'know, my mirror pal?
9. Are they looking for someone to save them or do they think theyā€™re beyond saving?
Ockham's mostly doing hishertheir own saving. Somehow. No one's ever been there for himherthem before so it wouldn't occur to Ockham to expect it. Ockham will figure out some sort of solution... eventually...
11. Do they have a found family?
Not so much. Ockham has a lot of acquaintances, some even friends, but there always seems to feel like there's a layer between himherthem and everyone else. It might be easier with Silverers, who aren't as subjected to that residual viric, but they also often get weird when they realise heshethey're a reflection. Ockham has an interesting flatmate situation going on with Tamara at the moment, but they're not remotely close enough to reach found family levels. She's one of the only people Ockham's told about the whole reflection thing and after the initial bad reception she's been relatively kind and normal about the whole situation... there's just still the inherent difficulty in speaking to someone who's constantly yawning and not quite able to recall your conversations, so Ockham isn't particularly hopeful or expecting this to go anywhere beyond sharing a household when heshethey's in London.

i said i thought of a zee card for @capn-twitchery's twitch and i will deliver!
A card drawn with Very Infrequent frequency (half as common as Standard), anywhere at zee, but only with troubled waters 3 or less and at least one level of Acquaintance: the Epicurean Captain. (also it's discardable)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Accompanied by the Epicurean Captain is a boon! It disappears when you dock at a port which clears Troubled Waters, and adds a little text about Twitch disembarking with a cheery "ciao!" and disappearing into the crowds.

plethora- do they collect anything?
naĆÆvetĆ©- what were they like when they first came to the neath? what brought them there in the first place?
plethora- do they collect anything?
zee legs
sort of! twitch doesn't have a huge collection of anything, living on a ship means it's not worth keeping many unnecessary possessions bc they'll just fall off the shelf and make a mess.
one thing they do collect, though, because of sheer pettiness, is one single button from the captain's jacket of every admiralty ship they sink. the button jar is a prized possession. it also makes a very satisfying clinking noise
they also collect a bottle of wine and a fancy wineglass from each ship when they can. gotta celebrate the ship sinking in pettiness style!
not exactly a physical collection, but they hoard as many secrets & stories as possible too. they just like hearing them!
and for grace,,
i don't think he collects much. he was rescued from the arctic with nothing except his clothes and sword (which twitch took anyway), and he just...never really felt the need to buy new things? not when he didn't plan on staying in the neath for very long anyway
literally the only thing coming to mind is maybe he collects fancy letter paper and envelopes, to give a good impression when he writes to people
no see he totally has his shit together! look at how crisp and fancy this letter is! please think he is distinguished and stable. please
naĆÆvetĆ©- what were they like when they first came to the neath? what brought them there in the first place?
for twitch. hm. i'm not sure, and neither is twitch! the whole red honey memory loss thing means they don't remember
they think they were born in the neath, but at the same time they have memories of being on the surface as a child. but that doesn't make any sense. people born down here can't go to the surface.
they prefer not to think about it too hard. maybe they'll never know!
and grace...
uh. well. it wasn't exactly a Smooth transition, or by choice,,,grace came to the neath when the royal navy ship he was on fell into it, after being stuck in arctic ice on the surface for around a year. by this point there were very few surviving crew members, and the fall killed even more of them
he had no idea what happened, since he literally died blacked out during. he didn't even know they were in the neath, just thought the drifting ice hit something huge.
he spent a few months in the stormbones before drawing straws with the other remaining survivor and kickstarting The Incident
so! safe to say he wasn't in a great place when he first came to the neath. probably the worst he has ever been, actually.
even after twitch rescued him and eventually took him back to london, he was out of place and confused, not knowing the culture or rules of the place. it takes him a While to get back on his feet, if you can even count him as being on his feet anyway
