I'm down to help organize, as long as someone else has some sort of experience I've been in zines before and could help with the scheduling planning aspect?

I honestly don't know anybody in our little niche (dreblr/dtblr) that has organized a collaborative zine before. I have organized an exchange and Big Bang before, and have been part of two zines (the calendar and the nikizine). Though of course there are several aspects that come with a calendar, that are not present with exchanges and bbs.

You have a limited amount of spots in the calendar, which comes with running application instead of sign-ups. Which means sending out acceptance and rejection messages/e-mail. You also need to have your printing options figured out by then, since there are 12, 15 and 18 month calendars. Do you even offer a printing option, or just self-print? For a first time project, you probably don't want to do a zine/calendar for profit or charity and just cover printing cost. But even then, you want to find a print on demand services probably so you don't have to carry that upfront cost.

You need a dedicated page designer, having a mockup of what your pages are going to look like before starting the applications might be a good idea too. And you need to make sure artist draw in the right specs (and color profile if you want to print it) To make sure there is variety in the pages, you probably should do pitches for the pages too. There is also an aspect of advertisement for the zine in the organization, most of the time in the form of contributor interviews and snippets. Though, I don't know how important that would be in our niche. Still, organizing that and making those post look pleasing is work.

I don't know, honestly the printing aspect sounds the scariest to me.

The rest is mostly just stuff you need in most events: running a dedicated blog, clear communication, a discord server and so on.

I have not run a zine before, and I am running a Big Bang right now. But I would be down to explore how to organize a calendar! It wouldn't need to start right away anyway, since the actual calendar would be for next year hmmm

See my thought was 3 sapnap months, 3 dream months, 3 george months, and 3 months of all three of them! And then it can be like. Any theme. A video, manhunt, DSMP, IRL, an au- whatever!

I really like the idea of a highly themed calendar, but that probably would make it easier on the organization side of things. It is kinda cute that it divides so perfectly hdhjfdf

yes yes, a dream team themed calendar would be so fun! A cc! one that has just cute slice of life illustrations! Or maybe each month illustration is based on a dream team video that came out in that month! Or maybe a dsmp calendar that illustrates lore moments, but it is all chronological in the year, so January is the first days on the server and December is the finale Or maybe each month highlights a c!dream duo (though 12 sounds like a lot for that)
