man i know felix is nasty and especially harsh on ingrid in their supports about her dreams of being a knight, but i can’t say i’m excessively angry about it because it comes from a genuine place of concern and fear for her. like the fact that he hates the whole ideals surrounding knighthood, chivalry and as he calls it “blind obedience” aside for...obvious reasons...

he’s also just genuinely terrified of losing one of his few and closest friends  ---  someone that would’ve been family by marriage at one point  ---  in the worst way possible. the same way he lost glenn. and that’s just???? not something he can handle, and yes, he gets extremely frustrated even just thinking about the possibility. but point is, his harshness doesn’t come from a place of not really wanting ingrid to pursue a dream  ---  it just comes from a place of fear and concern, okay??????

anyone else ever think about how outside of the lion cub quartet, a lot of lesser nobles probably only wanted to get to know or befriend felix growing up because he’s the duke’s son? because i honestly believe that with his generally jaded attitude aside, his go-to response with most people is “what do you want?” because he grew up with just...people wanting shit from him because of his family status??????? like man, by the time he gets to the academy he’s just so tired of the two faced, greedy bullshit and he just assumes people still want things from him as a natural response to anyone being nice to him let alone just SPEAKING to him...

Felix loves children, but have no doubts that he’s absolutely horrified by the idea of holding them at first. He’s afraid of hurting them or holding them the wrong way, and while he won’t openly admit it...he’s lowkey scared they’ll be afraid of him. He knows he speaks harshly  ---  though he tries his damnedest to speak more softly around little ones  ---  and can come off very prickly. He’s not good with them when they’re crying, he doesn’t know how to calm them down  ---  so yea, he just doesn’t wanna hold them when they first arrive into the world.

Once he gets used to it though? Beware, because at that point he rarely ever wants to put them down.
