I hate to have to make an actual serious post begging for donations, but I have reached that point!

I have been applying for jobs for 3 and a half months, and just struck out after another job interview because I am a student and will be returning in the fall. I have been applying for anything and everything.

I have exactly enough money to get me through until September. Which would be sucky but fine, except we recently adopted a reserve rescue puppy, Luna!

She is only 13 weeks old, and was living under a house, and it was either I take her or she goes to the pound. So, of course I took her.

However, now I need to get supplies for her, come up with the money for her shots, and get her spayed.

It doesn't help that my province had not been handling covid well AT ALL, and so we are going into a complete lock down again for 3 weeks.

Ultimately, I am mostly asking for money to help get her vaccinated and spayed. I am hoping for about $500CAD for her...

I would also like to get pet insurance, but it isn't my first priority. I always feel horrible asking for help, but it is either I vaccinate her or I pay my bills this summer.

How to tell when your Furby's birthday is

If you're like me, then you like developing overly complex backstories for your characters. One thing I like to do is give them birthdays. It can be a difficult process, but thankfully when it comes to Furbies some of the work is already done!

All Furbies have these little green stickers on the bottom of their boxes and inside their battery compartments, these are used by the factories and hold a lot of information such as their factory code and the day they were finished and ready to be shipped to stores (which I refer to as their birthday)

If you still have your Furby's box, look at the underside to see if there's a green sticker taped on it. If yours doesn't have a sticker for any reason, or if you don't have their original box, you can usually find another green sticker inside your Furby's battery compartment. Shown below is my Patriotic Furby Liberty's box, with the green sticker.

It's a bit hard to read due to the box being over twenty years old, but it's at least still legible. It says, "C015A1499A". The first string, "C015A", is the factory code for a WT Furby, but what we're focusing on is the second string, "1499A". This will be your Furby's birthday.

The first three numbers correspond to the day of the year (1-364, 365 for the year 2000) and the last number is the year itself (8, 9, 0, 1, 2; 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 respectively). So according to this formula, Liberty's birthday is the 149th day of 1999. But what was the 149th day of 1999?

Go to epochconverter.com/days/*insert year here* (in this case 1999)

It will take you to a chart listing the date in the leftmost column and what day of the year it is in the second left column

Scroll down until you see the number that's on your sticker (1-364, 365 for the year 2000). That's your Furby's birthday! So for Liberty, her birthday is May 29th, 1999 ^^

Idk if it's just me but has anyone else noticed that the variety 98/99 of furbs we can get over here via eBay isn't as big as in the US. Idk if it's just me n I'm not looking right but it always seems to be the same 3/4 common ones that always come up. I want some colourful bois

Have you ever purchased an adult 1998-9 furby that is NIB or has a clean battery compartment, and by all accounts should be working, but just doesn’t? If it’s base is loose instead of stiff and pointed forwards, and jiggling, slapping, and tapping hasn’t helped, you probably have a comatose furby!

Some furbies are easier than others, first, try the beak method! Some furbies can be started up without skinning! Pull the beak forwards and locate the small cork gear, and turn it towards you with a small flathead screw driver, furby should make some whirring noises and then start up!

If your furby doesn’t have a motor gear behind the beak, you’ll have to skin it. If you’ve never skinned a furby, it’s not too hard! There’s tons of tutorials you can look up online.

When you’ve skinned your furby look towards the left, between the beak and speaker. There should be a little rectangular opening with a flat gear in it. Turn it gently to the right, when you start hearing whirring, hold it there, and keep wiggling it! Furby will spring to life!

Now what if you’re like me, and for some reason you can’t find the motor gear? Turns out some furbies have a small piece of plastic in front of the gear, so you can’t access it. This was the case with my comatose tropical furby! Fortunately it’s an easy fix. Use an exactoknife or box cutter and heat it up for 30-60 seconds with a lighter. Then carefully use the hot blade to slice through the plastic until the square is gone and the gear is exposed.

From there wiggle that gear to the right and get your furby going? After simply reskin and voila!

Hey, plushblr I need your help.

Right so this here is my childhood toy that I lost a few years back, I was wondering if any of you could help me find a plush that was the same as him (minus clothes ofc)

He was a tan/peach colour with white stomach and a pinkish tail and had a navy dickie bow with white spots on it that was attached at one point on the front of him. His eyes were glass I think and his nose was plastic but had a thin layer of fabric on it. No clue what make he was but I got him second hand so he was old. Any help would be appreciated as this was my comfort item and I am willing to do anything to get my hands on another, thanks !

I was looking around for some information on McDonald’s furbies and I think I found something

I stumbled across an old furby blog, that hasn’t been updated since 2002, that had a post detailing information about the McDonald’s keychain furbs before they came out

However, what caught my eye was these things:

It looks like...McDonald’s was giving out ocean ripple furbies as a prize, a pattern that is considered unproduced

So basically this furby actually was produced but in very small quantities for McDonald’s.
