And they're back! Our Sheer Nylon Stockings are back in stock and we've even had our first five star review!
They're made in Italy from sheer non stretch nylon. The nylon yarn feels silky smooth but is very strong and less likely to hitch than our gossamer fine Fully Fashioned and RHT stockings.
It's mid January and our Black Seamed Stockings have arrived on target. Made from recycled yarn and packaged in truely biodegradable packaging you can be assured of vintage style without the vintage values.
One of our top January sale picks is our 1940s Bra which we're saying goodbye to, to make way for a new 1940s range which is arriving next week.
Our Sale 1940s bra will not only co-ordinate with the new 1940s Celia range, but also other items in our 1940s range, Maitresse, Glamour and Retro lingerie ranges.
The first range of 2024, 1940s Celia will be arriving next week. As always we maximise fabric use so you can mix and match between ranges. This set uses the same black lace as we use in black Diamond (currently on sale) and Clara. Plus, the black satin is also used on Maitresse, Glamour Shapewear and Retro lingerie.
This means that once you have a few pieces of ours, you don't have to buy a completely new set if you don't wish too. You can simply add a bra or maybe a suspender that catches your eye and still have a perfect fabric and colour match.
Our Sheer Nylon Stockings sold out almost as soon as they arrived a couple of weeks ago. The good news is that more are on the way. Ensure you don't miss out by signing up to our Waiting List.
All of the sale items pictured below incorporate the same black satin and powermesh we use in our Classic Range. If you can't find a complete set in our January Sale mix and match to create your own unique look.
Our collections have been carefully designed so you can mix and match between ranges to get the most wear and value from each set.
The fabric used for Diamond Bra is the same we use for Maitresse Lingerie, Glamour Shapewear and Clara Lingerie. In fact, all the pieces featured above incorporate the same lace, satin and powermesh.
Should we be sold out of stock of your size in our sale, all is not lost!
Yes, we're old school! We still publish a printed brochure. It's a really nice way to look back on what we've done before, in a way that just isn't possible on the web.
Last year we published four brochures, the first one for 2024 has just arrived.
Just arrived at What Katie Did, 100% nylon stockings with an invisible heel: perfect for if you love the look and feel of 'real' nylons but don't want to worry about a seam.

Thank you for shopping small this Christmas. It's a wrap at What Katie Did but a couple of elves will be shipping orders on 27/28/29 December (their choice, nobody is forced to work over the Christmas week!)
Are you dreaming of a White Christmas? If so, we've got you covered! Team our White Liz Lingerie with our White Frilly Petticoat for the perfect in snowy underpinnings.
We are expecting another delivery of Liz before Christmas but don't have an exact date as our British factory is in the process of moving. If your size is out of stock, just use our Waiting List feature and you'll be the first to know when it's arrived.
White, light and highly contrasting coloured lingerie does need a little more care than black. We do recommend hand washing all of our lingerie and although it's entirely up to you how you care for it, in the case of white, light and contrast colours I do urge you to spend just 5 minutes washing by hand.
Fill your sink with warm water and add a dash of detergent. I'm currently loving UK luxury laundry detergent Tallow and Ash which is a little indulgence but adds a lovely scent to your laundry.
Start with the lightest colour, in this case white, before moving on to peach and darker shades,
It is important to hang pieces up to dry quickly as if they are left damp, touching other colours, the colours could run into each other.
Gloves might primarily be worn for keeping your hands cosy, but they also add a glamorous allure, especially when it comes to vintage inspired opera length gloves.
This year we redesigned our black satin gloves making them a true opera length: the same length as our best selling sheer version.
A couple of years ago we had a fabulous surprise when none other than Dame Joan Collins wore our Long Sheer Gloves in the New Year edition of You Magazine. She wears hers ruched down a little making them more suitable for daywear and perfect for wearing with 1950s bracelet-length sleeved jackets.
Earlier this year I customized a pair of our Long Sheer Gloves adding fringing. This was incredibly easy to do as the side seams have very little stretch (the most difficult part was unpicking the seam). I used a zigzag stitch along the seam but if you don't have a sewing machine could hand stitch.
Don't keep just to fringing though. You could add a row of buttons or rhinestones to match your party outfit.
Did you know that our Christmas shoot took place in Camber Sands during the Rhythm Riot? We packed backing paper, fake snow and a 'balloon hoop' which I covered in Christmas decorations.
I couldn't resist adding a hand made 1950s decoration by Si Line Vintage which had a stand at the Rhythm Riot.
The Rhythm Riot has just celebrated it's 25th birthday. It's a 1950s weekender at Pontins in Camber Sands, East Sussex.
Alongside bands from around the globe (including the fabulous Tammi Savoy pictured below) they also have a great range of vintage and vintage inspired vendors.
Saturday night features a burlesque show that included our model Lucifera Swan which makes getting up early on Sunday morning for the vintage boot sale a bit of a chore, but well worth it!
We try to keep Photoshop to a minimum but added just a few lights and hint of snow flakes to our Christmas images. Smoothing out the seams in the snow was also an essential.

Although our heating at WKD HQ is on full blast it's decidedly chilly (takes a while to warm up after the weekend) so we need to keep extra busy today packing your orders.
