there's this scene in a movie where a girl is with her crush/bf on a dock at the lake, things start to get filled with flirty tension and the girl gets so flustered she just jumps in the water. It reminds me of how Summer would feel in the early stages, she would try to change the subject when things got very flirty with Jude and who knows: maybe she would jump in the water to avoid her feelings

Deffff!!! I think that literally and figuratively, Summer would jump into the water when she and Jude would start to have tension or when things would get flirty. She really likes him but she wasn't ready to open up to him and let him in because even if he hadn't acted shitty towards her directly, he had been so shitty in the past towards other people. She didn't really know how to handle her feelings because of that and last trauma so she kind of just freaked out when things would get to that point.
