Hey, y'all remember that one 30,000 word Pacific Rim fic I started in 2018?? No? Why, because I abandoned it for 3 years???

WELL I JUST UPLOADED 10 NEW CHAPTERS

If you're seeing this for the first time, this is a Newmann fic that I started around when Uprising came out for absolutely no reason at all randomly in the summer of 2018. It's a (so far) non-explicit slow-burn with Kaiju mutation, Ghost drifting, and mutual pining. The summary is as follows:

Hermann flies Stateside to visit an old friend, but what he finds there leaves him shaken. And now, with the Precursors re-launching their attacks on our world in new, horrifying ways, everyone is growing desperate. Newt seems to be the only one who can get them answers, but is he compromised by the enemy? He certainly looks it. Can mankind and monsters come together to defeat this threat a second time? Or will fear divide the Shatterdome?

There's not a whole lot of triggering material in this story, as far as I've been informed, but I'll put some gentle warnings for mental manipulation, as well as some violence and body horror.

Any Frender fanfic stories/authors you recommend? I feel like you know about this stuff 😂

Hi! Thanks for the ask, but I’m afraid my answer might be a bit disappointing since there’s a severe lack of frender-fic writers.

I gotta preface this with what I personally like in fanfics. I like them long, where the scene descriptions really lets you travel there. I also like when they don’t stray to far away from canon, aka in this case: I like when Fry and Bender aren’t dating in the beginning. These are just my personal preferences and biases, so keep that in mind when reading my recommendations.

I read fanfics on ao3 and nowhere else atm, so I’ll be limiting it to that:

YourBelovedDivinity - new author and haven’t posted much yet, but one of the few currently active authors! Plus I personally enjoy their writing ☺️

PolarKraken - they are unfortunately not active in the frender fandom atm but they have a lot of great fics! (37 tagged for futurama). They have mostly Explicit fics but not all are just shameless smut (and I do like that too), some really have an amazing story and PolarKraken really writes in a way that puts you in the character’s position

If you like drabbles I recommend DeckofDragons . It’s not really my thing personally (since I prefer longer format stories) but they are still active, which is not something to be taken for granted 😂

I cannot end a post about fave authors without mentioning my friend charaxiphare. They have written a story about werecars and are currently working on a sequel. It’s not frender but I still really recommend it! The way they write is like poetry.

And I guess I’ll end this with a self-promo: Orange_jo . I am not a very good writer, hell, english isn’t my first language and I know for a fact that there’s errors in my fics, especially the earlier ones (which was written in the notes app on my phone 😂). What I lack in quality I try and make up in quantity (?). I post pretty frequently and I am also open for requests!
