These are some characters inspired by the Guaraní princess of light, as well as the the legend of Jaci (the goddess of the moon) and the village maiden.
Estos personajes son inspirado de la leyendas Guaraní: La princesa de luz, Porâsý, y Jaci, (la diosa de la luna) y la mujer del pueblo.
Argentina 1978 FIFA World Cup: Mothers of people who went missing (a.k.a were kidnapped, tortured, and killed) during the last civic-militar dictatorship desperately asks for help to the foreign press, after their requests for information of their sons, daughters and grandchildren were ignored inside our own country. There are several concerns I hold regarding how culture is documented on the internet.
When you look up a culture or tribe, often times if it is a lesser documented one, many sources appear that are unrelated, but are not marked as such. This can be the fault of the platform’s (most likely social media organization, or a user or reuploader.
A recent issue that is extremely concerning is the amount of AI generated images of indigenous people. These generated images tamper with the validity of non-ai photos, and make it harder for people to discern a characteristic of a culture to another. Effectively warping and generalizing a culture, because these generated images use photos from countless cultures to poorly represent a specific one.
—- There is also another occurrence with “stock photos” of indigenous people with a large watermark on top. It is unclear if these photos were truly given to these sites by the original photographers, or alike to other incidents: reuploaded without permission.
People of indigenous decent or of decent of lesser known cultures should be able to research their and connect with their culture with ease.
There are some sites created with anecdotal information of those involved in the culture, but these are few and far between and are often pushed back in search results by larger sites that do not tend to label these photos properly.
Let’s try to find ways to make the internet a better organized library, for the sake culture and humanity.
the way people online talk about autism is getting really weird, like do they know that neurotypicals still have interests? that someone being passionate about a hobby doesn't mean they're autistic? you guys know that right
I believe it’s quite universally frustrating to try searching for fans or fanworks of a media held dear to you and be bombarded with something unrelated.
Let me find stuff related to lesbian folkrock, not Minecraft 🙏🙏🙏 I love Minecraft but please
This should not flood the fan space. Nor should it be so prominente that they are associated hand in hand for each other.
Also…. I’ve seen Crane Wives “related” posts about DSMP…. Dream is literally the worst person to be a mascot of The Crane Wives…. What.
I think the best solution is to come up with a tag that’s not related to the Crane Wives for content that mixes the two.
(Ps look what happened as I tried to tag this post 😭🙏)
im so sorry daily the crane wives twitter account. we will do it again.
Hey, why is it that every time I check my followed tags that posts tagged #t and #y pop up? It literally makes the entire tab useless and I have to toggle off most of my tags to get rid of the posts.
And it’s not like I can block these posts, there’s so many of them. It really stops me from keeping up with my obscure/unpopular interests.
When there’s barely any content It’s easier to check up on all of them at once :/
