“Then, let us burn,” the Rosalka said.

She gripped the pyre’s rim in her hands.  The immense heat burned flesh, but Miyuki kept direct contact.  Her knuckles tensed so tightly, they turned white, as she stared into those eyes.

Laughter.  Mockery.  That was all that she could see.  However, when it became clear she was not moving.  That she was resolute, she saw what appeared to be fear.

“Ya gotta be kiddin’ me, lass!”

She smirked.  “Did I stutter?”  The more she was shown this fear, her smirk got wider.  “Let.  Us.  Burn.”  She shoved the pyre, and grinned as the fire spread throughout the closed space.  She felt a familiar heat swirl around her.

It was not his but it was close enough.

She kept her stare, as she navigated around the closed space.  Her hair blew with the movement of the hot, dense air.  She was starting to get blurred vision. It was not enough.  There was more to be done.  The others will be here soon.  She wanted to give him a good scare.

She knocked another pyre down.  She walked towards him.

Forgive me, but he never gave you the chance...  everything... was premeditated.  Many knew this, including you.  You wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.  It cost you...  you were just too kind.  You took so much abuse and hate, and gave us smiles.  You broke through my walls.  Melted the ice around my heart.  I cursed you, yet you still loved.  I don’t think I can feel whole without you here...

I don’t regret us ever, I just... regret never giving you the time of day earlier.  What stories were you planning to tell when we reunited, but just didn’t tell when we were together?  When did you feel there was potential in us?  I would like to know, but won’t unless...
