Hello. For anyone who still cares, I think I am going to have to make the unfortunate decision to cancel the planned sequel to take my hand, wreck my plans (that's my man). Everyone needs to remember that yeah, the WGA deal is fucking awesome (for the writers, the studios can go cry in a corner)—but if the AMPTP doesn’t return to the table with SAG-AFTRA, like, immediately, then a bunch of shows and movies will get written and sold, but not filmed, and all this talk of “saving the TV season” will be essentially moot. And yeah, we should probably expect to see studio propaganda on that very topic in the coming days if SAG doesn’t play the way the AMPTP wants them to

the hollywood studios are the dumbest people alive bc now every american city with a large film/TV industry (LA, NYC, Atlanta, etc) are going to be overrun by grown up theatre kids (professional writers and actors) hanging out together in public for months on end with nothing to do but emulate newsies. whole american cities are about to look like the inside of a suburban dennys at 11 pm on a saturday after a high school musical closes. they have trapped millions of people in a hell of unimaginable proportions.

I thought the whole “we’re gonna use AI to write shows and movies and pay you garbage wages to fix the scripts” was vile, but “we want to scan background actors and then OWN THEIR LIKENESS TO USE IN PERPETUITY DESPITE PAYING THEM FOR ONLY A SINGLE DAY’S WORK” is just…

As excited as I am for the fans in Brasil who get to go to TUDUM in person and as excited as I am about getting some new content for season 3, I do need to point out that Netflix clearly has all of this money to spend to build these elaborate rooms and fly out all of these big stars first class, but still refuse to pay their writers a living wage.
