Westerners really treat North Koreans like they're gorillas in a zoo. Literally anything they create is treated as a primitive joke. As an example, the DPRK developed its own distribution of Linux called Red Star OS. Doing so is a natural and correct response to the sanctions which have been placed on the country, which forbid the transfer or sale of technologies to the DPRK, and it also ensures the security of critical government, military, and industrial systems, guarding against sabotage or data theft. I would say that every non-western country should develop their own distribution of Linux as a precaution against the West. The response to Red Star OS in the West has been one of mockery. It has been treated as a joke operating system in the Linux and FOSS communities broadly. It's certainly not an operating system you would want to use as a random person living outside of North Korea, but that's because it wasn't developed for your personal use, it was developed to meet the particular needs of the DPRK, and it meets those needs just fine. The only reason Red Star OS receives this treatment is because it's from the DPRK.

Everything that comes out of the DPRK is mocked similarly. Their music is mocked, their art is mocked, the presence of amusement parks and water parks in North Korea is mocked because the idea that 3rd worlders might possibly have fun sometimes is ridiculous, their correct military response to Western aggression is mocked. A few days ago there was a TikTok being shared of someone filming some North Koreans doing farm work from across the China-DPRK border and even that was mocked, because the idea that they might provide for themselves in spite of Western sanctions is absurd. Every rational and sensible action made by the proud North Korean people is mocked because Westerners cannot stand the idea that a nation they have tried so hard to completely destroy still remains standing, still remains strong, and is still undefeated.
