📸 REPOST & S/O to @shotclock_media for continuing the amazing around the clock support to our women athletes. • Women's March Madness breaks viewership records AGAIN through the Sweet 16, increasing by 73% from 2023. • The UConn vs Ohio State game clocked 2.4M viewers, the most of any women's sweet 16 game ever. • On the men's side, big jumps on TBS were not enough to overcome the decline in viewership on CBS. • Overall, they saw a decrease in viewership of 5%. @espnpr @tbsnetwork @cbssports #marchmadness #sweet16 _________________________________ Overall, it is difficult to generalize about why more men are supporting women's sweet 16 without additional information or data. However, increased awareness, growing gender equality, and personal connections are all factors that could potentially contribute to greater male support for women's sports. Regardless, get of your A$$ and go support the women. (at Golden 1 Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqWKUHtPZOG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

WHAT are recommendations for restorative sleep? _________________________________ 1. Try to maintain a regular sleep schedule, including on weekends. If this is not possible, establish a bedtime routine that can be practiced regularly. 2. Seek bright light during the day, especially in the morning, and try to avoid bright and blue light at night. This is especially important later at night, when bright and blue light can further delay sleep onset. 3. The bedroom should be cool (less than 68 degrees), dark and comfortable. 4. Caffeine (e.9., coffee, energy drinks and certain types of sodas and teas) should be avoided at least six hours before bedtime. Nicotine is also a stimulant and should be avoided. Alcohol may reduce time to fall asleep, but it can adversely impact sleep quality and should be avoided close to bedtime. 5. Consumption of excessive food and liquids at night should be avoided, as these may disrupt sleep. 6. Avoid obsessive clock watching. Often, looking at the clock at night can increase mental activity and anxiety, and make resuming sleep more difficult. 7. Individuals who have difficulty falling asleep should generally avoid naps. However, sleep-deprived individuals may find that short-duration napping during the day may improve performance and functioning. 8. Beds should be used for sleep-related activities only. Other activities such as reading and watching TV, especially if lying awake and unable to sleep, should be done out of the bed. Those who have difficulty falling asleep should get out of bed for a period of time and try again later. This practice (called stimulus control) is supported by strong evidence that it will help prevent insomnia and improve sleep quality over time. _________________________________ What can institutions do to improve collegiate athlete sleep? • Consider learning more about athlete time demands by conducting an anonymous annual survey. • Consider incorporating sleep screening into the pre-participation exam. • Provide education to athletes and coaches about sleep. The wild world of NIL is still new, but several college — and even high school — athletes in various sports are raking in some major dough since the new rule was passed for them to monetize their name, image and likeness. According to On3.com, the go-to resource for athletes, companies and fans when it comes to determining the real-time value of a player, the NIL marketplace is currently estimated at $750M-$1B and is expected to grow into a $3-$5B industry in the next five years _________________________________ How is an athlete’s NIL valuation determined? For each athlete, the On3 NIL Valuation algorithm takes into account three primary factors: performance, influence and exposure to create their individual Roster Value and Brand Value. Combine all three together to create the athlete’s On3 NIL Valuation, according to the company’s website. The value of a given athlete is constantly shifting based on various situations. On3 notes that factors including performance, influence, exposure, verified deals and changes in the overall NIL market size and individual collective size can all impact an athlete’s NIL Valuation from week to week. An athlete can see a significant change in their influence and exposure ratings through their social media accounts, which makes an immediate impact in their overall valuation. Athletes who perform at a high level in their given sport, specifically if in a nationally televised game or honored for their performance, can see an uptick. Through verified deal flow, an athlete can provide evidence of their compensation. _________________________________ #TopTiersTake🎙️ As a high school athletes, it's important to note that current NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) laws allow college athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness, but not high school athletes. However, if you're looking to prepare for potential NIL opportunities in the future, here are some steps you can take: 1. Build your personal brand: Start by creating a strong social media presence and cultivating a following. Focus on sharing your story and highlighting your skills, achievements, and personality. *continued in comment section below ⬇️ (at American Airlines Arena) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cpyb9JlPbnM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The multi-colored shirts of college sports: While “redshirt” may be a familiar term to many student-athletes and their families, there are actually a number of different shirt color terms that designate a student-athlete’s eligibility status. The color also shows how a coach sees a recruit contributing to the program in both the short-term and long-term. Redshirt scholarship offer: Typically, a redshirt athlete will have a scholarship but cannot compete for one year. They will participate in all team activities like practice, training, and receive benefits such as academic tutoring, but they will not see any playing time. However, they will get an opportunity to play four seasons in five years. Reasons for being redshirted include a coach wanting a year to physically prepare an athlete for college competition, or a chance for a student-athlete to recover from an injury. An “academic” redshirt would be a freshman who may not meet the academic eligibility requirements coming out of high school. Grayshirt scholarship offer: This is one of the more challenging offers from a college coach. A grayshirt is an incoming college freshman who postpones enrollment for a semester. Instead of enrolling right away in the fall, a grayshirt freshman enrolls in classes for the second term (winter) of freshman year. During their first semester of college, a grayshirt does not enroll as a full-time student. Instead, they only take part-time classes. A grayshirt also does not join the team, practice with the team or receive a scholarship during their first, part-time semester. Blueshirt scholarship offer: Blueshirting is becoming a more popular (but hardly common) way to creatively manage the number of athletic scholarships. Blue shirt rules allow for unrecruited players to be awarded a scholarship at the start of freshman practice. Like a redshirt, they will practice with the team but won’t be allowed to play for a year. This allows a team that may have too many commits to essentially borrow against their next year’s scholarship total… *continued in the comment section ⬇️ (at Madison Square Garden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpxqSw1JvDG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Women’s Tennis Scholarships Guide & FAQ 2022 _________________________________ All three NCAA division levels feature around 10,000 women's college tennis players. Less than 1% of these 10,000 athletes compete as US high school tennis players for NCAA Division 1 teams. College tennis is the NCAA sport with the highest number of international athletes participating. In 2017, 35.4% of women's tennis players playing at the NCAA Division 1 level were international athletes. To be spotted and have a chance at receiving an athletic scholarship, candidates must be proactive in the college recruiting process and maintain regular contact with coaches. How to obtain a tennis scholarship? In women's college tennis, international recruiting is quite popular; in 2017, 35.4% of roster holders competing at the NCAA Division 1 level were international players. The fact that some college coaches save a portion of their scholarship funding for these athletes as a perk for moving to the US is therefore not surprising. But regardless of where an athlete is from, it is a fact that college coaches prefer athletes with a strong academic record and a well-rounded skill set. Recruits must demonstrate their ability to balance their academic and athletic careers while making an immediate contribution to the team. Did you know that college coaches can make a recruit one of four distinct sorts of offers? The many paths a recruit can take to make the roster are shown below. • Offering a full scholarship • Tennis coaches in Division 2 • Walk-on recruits are preferred How to apply for tennis scholarships? Recruits cannot directly apply for athletic scholarships, but they can improve their prospects by how they present themselves during the recruiting process. A step-by-step look at how recruits might attract the interest of college coaches is provided below: • Build a recruitment video • Visit tennis camps • College coaches to contact • Create a free account with Tennis Wizard and create a free web page Which universities offer the finest women's tennis scholarships? *continued in the comment section below ⬇️ (at Tennis Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpxomKHpFRG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

people are so obsessed with the idea of fake friends. look lots of people aren’t going to like you and also aren’t going to hate you so much they feel the need to pick an actual fight with you so they’re just going to be like. friendly. when you’re around each other because that’s what adults do. and probably not invite you to their birthday party. this is not a grand betrayal you do this to other people too
