April 21, 1950: Jon Pertwee stars in 'Puffney Post Office
At 7.30 pm on April 21, 1950, Jon Pertwee opened the doors to 'Puffney Post Office', broadcast on the BBC Home Service. Over 14 weekly episodes Pertwee played a hapless old postman with the catch-phrase "It doesn't matter what you do, as long as you tears them up." Also appearing were future BBC Radio 2 broadcaster and Juke Box Jury presenter David Jacobs, and future Margaret Thatcher impersonator Janet Brown.

On February 28, 1970, TV Comic begins their second Third Doctor comic strip story, “The Multi-Mobile”.
The Third Doctor and the Brigadier attend the demonstration of a new power car called the Multi-Mobile. When it's stolen by foreign agents, the Doctor finds himself trying to prevent the impervious vehicle from destroying a nearby nuclear power plant.

On Friday, February 27, 1970, the BBC's Audience Research Department filed an Audience Research Report on Spearhead from Space Episode 1. The episode rated a Reaction Index of 54, with new Doctor Jon Pertwee having been "accepted without question".
