Why do we do this to ourself
Why do we fall in love with the unavailable...are we scared of them loving us back??
Are we scared of love itself??
Are we scared of all the possibilities??
We see them we know that our existence in their lives is of a speck, is of something that just exists..still we give them our most precious thing..we give them our time..we give them so much space in our heads..
Today let’s decide to just take little bit of that time back and ask them to squish up and give us that space back...maybe in time we’ll stop altogether🤞🏻

“I’m going to start studying right after I’ve ______”…you won’t. “Oooh, I’m going to highlight my notes with 49930 different colours to help me retain information” Highlight key words!! “Everyone else has these amazing, expensive notebooks, pens and Macbooks. Maybe I need them too to be a good student.” Hint: You don’t “There more I manage to cover during this hour, the more I’ll learn” Remember: Quality NOT quantity “Revision is so unnecessary. I have a good memory and I know I’m going to remember this on the test I have in 2 months”… sorry to break this to you but you probably won’t remember a lot. Go through everything you’ve covered during the last week on the weekend. “Oh boy, I’m so tired. I think I’ll just read this chapter in bed.” Hint: You’ll fall asleep “Okay so I need to study this and this much to get a better grade than _____“ wth nonono. Study for yourself?? “Omg, I didn’t study today. I’m such a failure” You don’t have to study every day. You shouldn’t study every day!! Have at least one day a week when you do nothing school related, your brain needs the rest!   “I didn’t get a ____ in the test. I must be dumb idiot and a complete failure who won’t accomplish anything in life” One grade doesn’t affect your life one bit. “I must study law, medicine or any other STEM subject to be considered a real hardworking student” Hint: Humanities and other subjects are just as hard, okay? “My teacher is bad and that’s why I won’t ever learn this” Take your computer, open google, google the stuff you don’t get. Was it so hard? Don’t blame your teacher for not understanding something. They’re humans and not perfect. Be ambitious and try to teach yourself with the help of your friends, the internet, youtube, library books etc.

10 Things I Tell Myself When I Don’t Want To Study
1. You are very lucky and privileged to have access to almost unlimited knowledge and you should appreciate that.
2. Be one of those rare people who step over their insecurities and succeed.
3. You will know what to do as soon as you start. Ideas never appear from inactivity.
4. Make yourself proud.
5. It’s not supposed to be easy. Nothing good ever is.
6. One hour every day doesn’t feel much but its 365 hours a year. You can’t not succeed after so much work.
7. If you give up now, you’ll have to return to this later anyway but from the very beginning.
8. Maybe you think you can never find something to use your skills and mindset for. But if you continue investing in what matters to you, it will find its way out there.
9. Every moment you thought your fears would suppress you has become the time you made it. 
10. Make yourself proud.

little things i’ve learned:
one: pay attention to the music you’re relating to. sometimes it’s a clear indicator that something is wrong. other times, it’s an indicator that something is very, very right. when the latter happens, pay extra close attention.
two: true control is subtle, not obsessive. you may not even know that you have it when you do. people who are in control do not question it. they just are.
three: never pass up the opportunity to stick the tips of your fingers out the window of a moving car. feel the wind carry you to the sound of your favorite songs. this is a reminder that you’re alive.
four: thoughts don’t have to mean anything. you can just let them be there.
five: notice when you’re struggling and allow yourself some leeway when you do. however, learn the difference between giving yourself leeway and enabling your struggle. 
six: you cannot build self-love from a foundation of self-hatred. first, work toward self-acceptance. love will follow.
seven: do not love others simply because they love you back. do not expend your love on people who won’t love you back. 
eight: don’t forget to stop and look around. take a moment a day to stop doing and just be. the mindfulness hype isn’t overrated. there’s a reason for it.
nine: setting limits and saying no will not end any relationship worth keeping. 
ten: friendships built on moments of competitive misery are not healthy. if you find that you’re having the urge to constantly showcase your misery around someone, take that as a red flag. sadness is not a competition you want to win.
eleven: recovery is not about being happy. some days you will feel bored and flat. but these days are still better than those you built around destroying yourself. these days are still victories. recovery is about being alive.
twelve: when you’ve built an identity around being sad, the concept of happiness may scare you. giving that sadness up will strip you of most everything and leave you feeling empty. embrace this emptiness and fill it up with exploration. you’ll find that it’s worth it.
thirteen: you will not come out of your coldest days the same as you were going into them. this is not a bad thing. someday, you’ll be warm enough to feel the sun on your face again.

things to do more often
- hide little positivity notes in pockets of bags, pants, or jackets you won’t use for a while
- take (actual) candids of your friends when they’re happy. show them to them later 
- send random snail mail full of goodies to your far away friends
- read for pleasure
- hug your friends and family just because! bonus points if you tell them you love them and/or why– that’s very important to hear once in a while
- add a little cinnamon to your coffee or toast
- use those beauty products you’ve been “saving”
- send anonymous asks of positivity to people on tumblr– who doesn’t love those omg
- collect little day to day things that make you happy and make a little page of positive vibes
- buy flowers for yourself
- journal about your happiest moments. read them when you’re feeling down
