5) How did any of the factors from any of the previous 3 questions impact your decisions to buy, if at all? 

The skin care isles caught my eye using bright lights and sale signs and the specific product that I chose caught my eye because of the bright green color (that is my favorite color). When I picked up the item I was immediately drawn to the cut-out hole in the package that wanted you to be able to feel the product inside. I thought this was fun and as someone who touches everything, this made me happy. Everything about the packaging was easy to understand and straightforward so I knew exactly what I was getting.

09/25/22

During the day I find that I have random bits of time that are too short to be filled with school work. Lately during those spar times I’ve been playing the game of solitaire on google. I enjoy playing solitaire because it is a one person game that requires some skill and observation. I feel less guilty spending my short free time playing this game rather that other games or social media that require no brain power. 

Today I spent extra time playing solitaire because I had to ride the bus a lot and had frequent periods of time in between classes that were so small to get any homework completed.

09/24/22

Today I spent many hours consuming google docs and free Grammerly checks in order to aid my writing for class. I am someone that finds writing and expressing my thoughts into written sentences to be challenging. Therefore writing ends up consuming a lot of my time. Today I experienced writers block and ended up staring at my form for extended periods without being able to write a single thing down. 

This semester, a lot of my classes are writing intensive. Luckily there are a lot of platforms like Grammerly and other grammar and writing tools that can aid in your writing process.

09/20/22 Coffee Consumption Day 3

Since I am always at the St. Paul campus for classes, I have become a pretty recent customer at Mim's Cafe. So continuing my coffee consumption reflections, today I purchased a Pumpkin Latte for $4. Something about fall flavors during the beginning of fall is so exciting and fun. At first, I was gonna get a Lavender Latte but the pumpkin caught my eye since it was a new flavor for the season.

09/18/22 Homework Consumption

Today I found myself consuming something a little more today than normal, and that was my Homework. I spent more than 5 hours on school work tonight. sitting in the sunroom of my apartment I watched the sunset and the moon rise while doing research for my plant propagation class. Some days I put a lot of my attention on school work for multiple hours at a time. My consumption of canvas and homework helped me learn and study for class.

I like being creative and design is a great outlet for me to express my creativity. I also love to try and solve problems in a creative way and look at things through multiple different lenses. Being hands-on when working with a design is what I prefer, like making prototypes or tests. My goal as a designer is to be proud of my work and create something unique and creative. I hope this year I can dive deeper into different kinds of design because I am still not sure how I can take my interest and apply that to a particular study and or job.

this quote relates to what I said because this is a very non-creative way to look at something and is a common way people perceive things. I think it's important that things are useful and usable but I want to go beyond that and make things "special". I feel like nowadays things are so simplified for ease of use that they lose character and fun.

09/14/22 Snacks

Today I tracked a different kind of consumption than I originally thought I was going to do. I guess you could say I tracked my consumption of pre-packaged snacks. I choose this because of how wasteful it can be over a period of time. I was at school from 10:30am-5:30pm going to my three classes and didn’t have time to make lunch in the morning. I want to consume less wasteful products, but it can be difficult with a busy schedule. They are small and individually packaged, so you can take them anywhere with portable ease. Which is why they are so popular and common.

09/13/22 New Foods

I am over at St. Paul campus and today I am trying another new food item at Mim’s Cafe. I got a Baklava and a mini bag of Takis. Takis are something that I am very familiar with and like to get often, but a Baklava is something I have never tried before. A baklava is a pastry with layers of flaky phyllo, pistachios, walnuts and a sweet honey lemon syrup. The Baklava was $3 and the takis bag was $1, so my total was only $4, which I thought was a super great price considering what I got.

I invest a lot of my time in researching and trying new places and/or food items. The consumption of cultures through their food is just another way to appreciate and explore their history.

09/12/22 Coffee Consumption Day 2

I realized that I consume a lot of coffee and spend a lot of my money at various coffee shops around campus. Today I passed by a little coffee stand called Misfit and decided to get something on my way to classes. I felt like rewarding myself today since it was the beginning of the week and I was almost 40 minutes early to my class. I ordered a Vanilla Latte and it was $7 and was more expensive than I expected it to be. I’m hoping I can find a reliable coffee place on campus for a drink under $5. 

I might start blogging about all of my coffee purchases because I know I purchase coffee at least once a week. I like treating myself, and coffee is something that I usually turn to when I want something sweet. Nowadays, it seems like a lot of people consume coffee and I wonder how much money I spend on coffee in an entire year…

09/11/22 Media Consumption

Tonight I ended up watching a show I already watched last year. The show is called Black Mirror and it’s a thriller type show made in 2019. I realized that I consumed 2 hours of this show during the day. I was looking for a nostalgic past time while taking a break from my school work. I appreciate the art and time that goes into shows and movies and it’s why I enjoy investing so much of my time into watch them. I’m not really a fan of “thriller movies” but the characters in this show are likable and I like the mini shows within the series and the continued actors from each story.

09/10/22 New Foods

Today I tracked my consumption of different foods around Minneapolis/St. Paul campus that I haven't had a chance to try yet. The Veggie Falafel Combo ($15) for lunch and the Chai Latte ($4) for an afternoon study break. Both are from Mim's Cafe, a Middle Eastern Cafe on the St. Paul campus.

I was just in the mood to try something new today and wanted to get out of my apartment since it was so nice out. I love trying new foods and since this is my first year on the twin cities campus I want to make a point to try many new places.

My Consumption 09/08/22

With my day being filled with classes I didn't think I would be able to come up with many consumptions but I have.

Gas! I took the Campus Connector to school and take it almost every day. After class, I went to Mim's Cafe and purchased food and drink. About every hour I used electricity to charge my computer and phone. In between my classes, I spent most of my time looking through emails and scrolling on social media.
