I've heard people say how it could get confusing with 'Al' sounding like 'Val', specifically in the context of RadioStatic, which is true and funny to think about. But no one's mentioned (that I've seen) that 'Val' and 'Vel' are probably even easier to misinterpret, and those names are both probably heard very frequently around the V tower, often from Vox. I imagine it'd be even funnier for people who see them as a poly couple where Vox is dating them both.
