Me writing at age 15: what IF the story was about people KIDNAPPING teenagers and CRUELLY EXPERIMENTING on them and I had a NINE YEAR OLD accidentally KILL A MAN with unharnessed DEADLY PSYCHIC ENERGY
Me writing at age 25: what if a vampire was just a really good dad to his loving family and my characters had a whole conversation with a faerie about human music genres

i can't believe "adults writing fanfiction about teenage characters is kinda creepy even if it's g-rated" is a take that i have had to read with my own eyes on more than one occasion.
like...buddy. where do you think the source material came from? exactly how old do you think the original creators of your blorbos are? i am begging you to think about this for ten seconds.

“I was very engaged with the idea of breaking Loki open,” Hiddleston says. “Any questions around identity I’ve always found interesting [...] And in so many ways the series was about integrating the disparate fragments of the many selves that Loki is. [...] He’s the archetypal trickster, the transgressive, the boundary-crosser, the shapeshifter, somebody so expert at changing shape. And so the question we had in our minds was, who is he really? Who is Loki? What makes Loki Loki?”
Oh you did break him, congratulations. I always find it funny that these people keep asking the questions but they never answer them, interesting isn't it? So who is he then? According to the TVA he's a villain with no past who's only defined by the NYC invasion and the crimes he has committed and can only find redemption by being punished, humiliated and betrayed by a "superior" variant who's far worse than him, commits worse crimes than him but is defended and justified at the same time he's beaten and called names.
So who is he then? How interesting that they never answer that.
“The great conceit of the TVA is that putting Loki inside this institution strips him of everything that’s familiar — Thor, Odin, Asgard, his magical power, his clothing. And by taking everything away, Loki is challenged to reveal something about what remains — or we were challenged to find what remains of Loki and what the new journey is,” Hiddleston continues.
See? No answers. They keep saying these things because they sound good but they never provide answers. In theory that's a good show, yeah. But those questions are never discussed in the series, that's the problem. They keep talking about a show that never existed.
... adding that director Kate Herron had “the most wonderful take” on Loki’s Season 1 arc. “When I met her for the first time, within five minutes, I think I asked her what do you think the series is about and she said, ‘I think it’s about acceptance, permission and love.’ And I thought, ‘She gets it!'”
And where is that acceptance? And the love? And excuse me.. permission? Permission for what and from who? How can these people say that the series is about acceptance when the truth is everything Loki learns in this show is that he's a terrible person and a "narcissist" who deserves the beatings he gets? Who doesn't have his past addressed? Who has to sit through a bunch of manipulative scenes of his loved ones saying they love him just so the audience is led to believe he had been wrong all this time and his mistreatment was nothing more than imagined slights?
He's right about one thing though. They wanted to break him and oh they did. They really did.

This is mildly blasphemous, but in the Toy Story universe do baby Jesus figurines from nativity sets think they’re actually Jesus, or are they just like. Babies
