Don’t let the dark academia community make you think you can only read classics, most of which have thinly veiled bigotry. Read fantasy, read YA, read romance, read sci-fi. It’s not what you read. It’s how you read it. Think of every book you read as a classic. Approach it the way you would Dickens or Shakespeare. Analyze the language, think about the author’s intent, the cultural impact, everything. Every book is a classic to someone
