In 1944 a kitten named George (short for General Electric) was saved from drowning by a U.S. Navy crew member. George was then photographed and given a liberty card and detailed health record. Source.

When I was in my 20s my apartment was the Hangout Hub for my friend group. They helped me move into that place, hauling boxes and what little furniture I had. Everyone would just show up randomly and hang with me all day. They'd sit on my toilet reading their poetry out loud to me while I washed my hair in the tub beside them. They'd run errands with me then crash all over my living room to play Super Nintendo and eat takeout. They'd pass out drunk beside me in bed then make breakfast with me in the morning. It was the best time of my life.
I'm in my 30s now and I love it when it friends call. Call your friends.
