How has your opinion of Social Media changed from doing this project? Some people look at social media negatively – how would you argue with them that it can be useful and educating?
I have always known that Social Media is a great tool in today's society, but after doing this project I have many more reasons why. Over the past two months, or so, while doing this project on Tumblr I've learnt that through social media, education and entertainment can be linked.
I would have to agree that some people look at social media in a different manner than me, and this could be because they haven't seen it through a students eyes. For a student Social Media is gift, we can submit work that we forgot about without having teachers deduct marks for being late. As it helps students it also works vice versa. Teachers can also send students assignments that need to be completed.

I chose Farasat's post because I agree with what he had to say about reputation. He says that reputation is what people think of you and what they hear about you from others. He goes on to give a few examples to persuade his audience and I believe that they examples he used were accurate and describes reputation well.
Tumblr media
Reputation is what others think of you when they hear things about you. What they hear could be true it could be false. In the picture you can see that the people seem surprised. This could be because someone with a bad reputation had done something amazing or that someone with a good reputation had done something awful. This will change what these people think of the person in question. You could be the most hated person and then you do this amazing thing and everybody loves you for it! Your reputation in their mind changes. On the other hand you could be hero and someone could accuse you or leak info on something bad you did. Your reputation would plummet and everyone would hate you. The message is that your reputation is influenced and changes by what you do. If you have a good reputation, good for you, keep it that way don’t blow it as it will be hard to regain peoples trust. If you have a bad reputation figure out what is causing it and fix it.

Justice
Tumblr media
I chose this image because its a picture of the Justice League. They fight for justice with a mindset that's unbiased. They don't fight for themselves but for others and to do whats right in the eyes of justice. That is the reason i chose this particular image because it sums up what I have learnt throughout this unit.

Music for the Crucible
Piano and String Quartet - The Secession
Act One, Page 19-20
ABIGAIL, pulling her away from the window: I told him everything; he knows now, he knows everything we- BETTY: You drank blood, Abby! You didn’t tell him that! ABIGAIL: Betty, you never say that again! You will never- BETTY: You did, you did! You drank a charm to kill John Proctor’s wife! You drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor! ABIGAIL, smashes her across the face: Shut it! Now shut it! BETTY, collapsing on the bed): Mama, Mama! She dissolves into sobs. ABIGAIL: Now look you. All of you. We danced. And Tituba conjured Ruth Putnam’s dead sisters. And that is all. And mark this. Let either of you breathe a word, or the edge of a word, about the other things, and I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you. And you know I can do it; I saw Indians smash my dear parents’ heads on the pillow next to mine, and I have seen some reddish work done at night, and I can make you wish you had never seen the sun go down! She goes to Betty and roughly sits her up. Now, you-sit up and stop this! But Betty collapses in her hands and lies inert on the bed. (I.113-132)
I chose this song this particular part in the book because its a very serious scene and the song fits right into it. The song is a very slow calm song that pickup a bit but does not go fast at all. The scene also picks up some pace as it goes along therefor i believe that this song would be great fit for this unique scene in the book, the Crucible.

The Crucible
The story of the Crucible can be represented differently in two mediums, for example the book and the movie. In the book the story is told mainly through the dialogue between the characters. On the other hand the movie tells the story through the actions of the characters adding music and extra scenes to highlight the story. This allows us to observe the stories in different ways. I have read the Ninth Legion, and I watched the movie which the director changed to the Eagle. There was a huge difference in the mediums, between the book and the movie. They took away a huge part of the movie and added their own plot. Towards the end of the book the two main characters are on the run to the wall and never separate from each other. Although, in the movie they take that out, and one of the characters splits up to find help and eventually comes back with member of his father’s legion to help them fight.

The reason I reblogged this post is because I agree with it, and I believe that this quote from Malcolm X does represent justice.
"I'm for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice, no matter who it's for or against" - Malcolm X
I choose this quote because it dismisses the idea of giving “favorable” judgments, meaning that because the judge happens to know the wrong-doer he lets him off the hook rather than bringing him to justice no matter who or how influential they are.

I have to agree with Mohammed, because he makes very good points for the benefits of Social Networking. He states that Social Networking helps him contact his friends to ask about any missed work at school. He also states that collaborating with friends to do a project is also made easier by social networking. Thirdly he says that he can communicate very easily with his family that live abroad. All of his ideas match mine and I agree with him 100 percent.
Benefits of Social Networking
1. I don’t have to stress out if I miss a homework in class because I can ask one of my friends on any social networking site and ask them
2. I can do group projects without having to physically go over to my friend’s house, instead we just get on something like Skype and we can collaborate easily
3. I can talk to family in other countries easily and not have to wait until the next time I see them

Casting the Crucible- Betty Paris
Tumblr media
One of the reasons for picking Mackenzie Foy to play this is that she is one of the best actors among her age. Another would that she has an innocent face and she could use her face to make the audience believe that she is.

Casting the Crucible- Paris
Tumblr media
I would cast Donald Sutherland to play the character of Paris because he is a great actor and he could make the audience believe that he is paranoid and hungry for power. He could really make crowd also believe that he is self-pitying and that he would really like ti build his figure in the community.

Casting The Crucible- John Proctor
Tumblr media
If I were able to cast The Crucible, I would choose Anthony Hopkins to play John Proctor. This is mainly because John Proctor's character has to be played by someone that has a harsh tongue. He should also be stern and serious. Another reason would be that he is an amazing actor and could probably play any role that within his age.

*Post a song that you think represents your view on justice or reputation; write two paragraphs about why you think this song represents your opinion
Equal Rights by Peter Tosh
Everyone is crying out for peace, yes None is crying out for justice Everyone is crying out for peace, yes None is crying out for justice
I don't want no peace I need equal rights and justice I need equal rights and justice I need equal rights and justice Got to get it, equal rights and justice
Everybody want to go to heaven But nobody want to die Everybody want to go up to heaven But none of them, none of them want to die
I don't want no peace I man need equal rights and justice I got to get it, equal rights and justice I really need it, equal rights and justice Just give me my share, equal rights and justice
What is due to Caesar You better give it all to Caesar, yeah, yeah, yeah And what belong to I and I You better, you better give it up to I
'Cause I don't want no peace I need equal rights and justice I need equal rights and justice I have got to get it, equal rights and justice I'm a fighting for it, equal rights and justice
Everyone is heading for the top But tell me how far is it from the bottom Nobody knows but everyone fighting for the top How far is it from the bottom
I don't want no peace I need equal rights and justice I need equal rights and justice I have got to get it, equal rights and justice I really need it, equal rights and justice
Everyone is talking about crime Tell me who are the criminals I said everyone is talking about crime, crime Tell me who, who are the criminals I really don't see them
I don't want no peace I need equal rights and justice We got to get equal rights and justice And there will be no crime, equal rights and justice There will be no criminals, equal rights and justice
Everyone is fighting for equal rights and justice Palestinians are fighting for equal rights and justice Down in Angola, equal rights and justice Down in Botswana, equal rights and justice Down in Zimbabwe, equal rights and justice Down in Rhodesia, equal rights and justice
I posted this song because i believe that this song represents justice in many ways. It begins by speaking about equal rights and that every person in this world deserves it. It also relates Equal Rights to Justice and says that with these to factors, peace can be acquired.
After relating equal rights to justice,it hen relates both with crime. If they both can be achieved it will be able to fight crime. If crime is fought and and beaten peace can also be achieved. For peace to be within our grasp there has to be no flaw with either the justice system or the equal rights of men.

I agree with Omer, I think that this quote describes justice in a way that both sides should be treated fairly. Justice should not favor one side over another. It also should not be able to be bought, by the rich and powerful and should not be forsaken because one side is not rich or powerful.
"Justice cannot be for one side alone, but must be for both." - Eleanor Roosevelt
I chose this quote because it states that no matter how rich a person is but when it comes to justice the poor person should get the exact same treatment as a rich person. This quote also shows that if it’s a matter of justice we should be unbiased/fair.

*In what ways do you think social networking helps you better connect with the world around you? Give at least three specific examples
Social networking has helped me many times in the past and I have no doubt that it will help me in the future because it is a fast and easy way to communicate with people. A few examples are:
1. Social networking has helped me inquire friends about school work or simply any information.
2. It has helped me communicate with my friends and family in South Africa.
3. And in school, when I have to hand in an assignment to a teacher the day of the due date I can just send it to her via e-mail.

Justice and Reputation
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/25/us-usa-execution-ohio-idUSBRE98O0ND20130925
I chose this article because it represents a doing of justice that brought a guilty man to his knees and him pay for his crimes to society. He was convicted of killing a neighbor and then killing the policeman that responded to the gunshot. I believe that if the man was easily take two innocent lives, whats to say he doesn't do it again, or that it seems only fair that he's life be taken away from him too. The man was described as racist by prosecutors, which means that he must have had a bad reputation in the eyes of many others. If he had a good reputation that didn't make look racist he would not have been viewed as a racist man.

"In matters of truth and justice, there is no difference between large and small problems, for issues concerning the treatment of people are all the same." - Albert Einstein
I chose this quote because it describes what real justice is and what it should be. Justice should be carried out whether the problem is small or hug. No matter the size of the issue, the solution will be have a huge impact.

Social Media
The internet is a major influence in modern society, and with that influence comes major perks including social media. social media enables us to messages in the form of texts, images, videos, audio, and many many more ways. It has developed into a significant part of most peoples lives.
I think that, unless the internet goes down, written communication is basically useless to to people with access to the internet. Social media allows us communicate across a greater distance and much faster, than written documents. I think that social media has helped many people through many different situations in which a written form wouldn't have been fast enough. Written communication is definitely being lost to social media.
