Because we don’t want to miss anyone’s work, we’ve put together this brief guide on the different ways you can submit works to the Jaydick Week blog. Make sure you read the following so you know how to get your work reblogged by us!

Tumblr gives us a nice notification, and we’ll be able to follow the notification directly to your post. **If you are cross-posting on Twitter, please mention us @/jaydickweek** ❤️💙 Tag your post with #jaydickweek or #jaydickweek2024. You must place one of these tags within the first 5 tags to comply with our overlord, the Tumblr search algorithm. The mods will be searching these tags for new submissions every day. If we miss your post, please send us an ask off-anon. ❤️💙Submit your work through our blog: This is useful if you posted your work to Twitter, or if you’d like to keep fandom things separate from your Tumblr account. I’m hoping tumblr won’t stab me for this one. But here’s a Soukoku commission from my lovely patron @evolretla , and here’s the lovely story they wrote for it, to give meaning to the art!

“It’s one of those days when everything is gray and the world is a little bit too sharp. Dazai and Chuuya have a kind-of-established relationship, enough for them to practically live together, and for Dazai to be comfortable enough to never wear his bandages. Except on days like these, because he struggles with being disgusted by all the self-inflicted scars and wanting to add to them.

Of course, Chuuya knows this, and he decides to do something about it. Telling Dazai to trust him, he unwraps the bandages covering his arms (where the worst of the scars are) and then gets a pen out of his pocket. A gold one. And then he starts to carefully paint the scars in gold while he tells Dazai about the art of Kintsugi: the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. It’s about embracing flaws, about not hiding them—because they can still be beautiful. Just because something is broken doesn’t mean it’s worthless or can’t be fixed. Your broken pieces make you stronger.

And Dazai is speechless, because this goes against everything he’s ever known, and it shouldn’t make sense, yet Chuuya sounds so sure that he can’t help but believe it—at least a little bit. He tears up and doesn’t even care, because this means more to him than Chuuya could possibly understand.”
