dear young girls who think that they may want a future with another girl:
-you are not doing this for attention
-you are not just “keeping your options open” by labeling yourself as bi
-you can call yourself a lesbian if you feel like you want to be
-you can not call yourself anything
-you don’t have to come out
-you are not doing this for attention
-your attraction to girls is valid even if you cant pinpoint gay moments in your childhood
-your attraction to girls is valid even if you have never had a crush on a girl
-you are not “too young” to be thinking about this. people say that because f/f relationships are hypersexualized in our society. its ok to dream about having a wife one day and cuddling on the couch with her and adopting a dog together
-you are not doing this for attention

dear incoming freshmen,
1. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IF YOU ARE BRINGING COFFEE/ETC. TO SCHOOL GET A SPILLPROOF CUP. rn i am flashing back to the month old coffee that got spilled in my locker, and how much i gagged whilst trying to clean it up. everything smelled like spoiled milk and it was awful. please get a spillproof cup.
2.you won’t need half the stuff you think you do. literally just get one big binder, some lined paper, a couple pens/pencils, and some highlighters.
3. don’t fuck w/ your sleep schedule. i speak from experience.
4. if you take gym, always bring your gym clothes even on the first day of class.
5. be nice to your teachers and they will let things slide. (i.e. late work, your inevitable sass)
6. holy shit don’t lose your textbooks/required reading/library books. pls just don’t.
7. always do the required reading because the one day you don’t will be the day there’s a goddamn pop quiz. also try to buy your own copy of the required reading, because a) the school copies are usually really old and gross and b) you can mark yours up. its super helpful to highlight and write in the margins, and then you dont need to take notes!!!
8. nobody really cares if you date/don’t date.
9. speaking of dating, DONT DATE THE SENIORS JESUS CHRIST
10. be nice to yourself. one bad grade isn’t the end of the world.
11. im gonna repeat this because it’s crucial: BUY A MOTHERFUCKING SPILLPROOF CUP.
12. don’t stand in the middle of the damn hallway. pick a side. don’t walk slow/text while walking either.
13. your english teacher will either be super chill and or satan spawn, there is no in between.
14. bring ur headphones. bring ur charger.
15. when you do shakespeare try to watch the film versions too. the plays aren’t meant to be read, they are meant to be watched and it will make understanding so much easier.
16. be nice to your friends. they’ll let you copy their homework.
17. don’t fuck around with your grades tho. pls try your hardest because all those D’s will kill your college choices.
18. don’t be nervous, it’s just another school  year. you’ll do great :)
love,
a sophomore who’s done her time

tips for treating yoself
body:
Exfoliate once or twice a week.
Let your vagina breathe - don’t wear underwear to bed unless you’re on your period.
Change your pad/tampon/etc at least twice a day.
Don’t wash up inside your vagina (aka douching) it will tip the pH balance in your vagina and you will end up with an infection, you can wash around your thighs/pubic area but that’s it, same applies with perfumes and other body cosmetics.
Use coconut oil its good for so many things!!
Use body butters after getting out of the shower.
Use tea-tree oil for pimples.
Use sunscreen!!!
For people with oily skin - use blotting paper around your eyes and in your T - zone.
Don’t squeeze/pick at pimples - the bacteria on your hands will only make them worse and will create more redness.
Always use moisturiser before applying makeup
When washing your vagina, lift up the clitoral hood and softly rub your finger along the hood to wipe away dead skin cells. If you end up masturbating, fuck it.
Hair:
Wash your hair every 2-3 days. Don’t wash every day because it will make your head dry, try dry shampoos instead.
Use conditioning treatments weekly in the summer to prevent your hair from losing it’s colour.
Brush your curls with your fingers to create a more tousled look.
Before blow drying your hair use volumizing spray or gel on your roots for more definition in your hair.
Use shampoos that are sulfate free as sulfates dry and damage your hair quicker.
If your hair is greasy avoid conditioning the roots, just the ends.
Trim your hair every 6-8 weeks so you have healthy hair and no damaged ends.
Use avacado oil on your hair in the winter to stop your hair from drying out.
Dry shampoo is also very good for volumizing your hair.
The best way to get rid of ingrown hair is to exfoliate.
Avoid dry shaving your pubes, this will cause redness and spots which are easily treated with hydrocortisone cream or aloe vera.
If you are to shave, use conditioner instead of shaving cream - you will get a smoother result - that goes for anywhere you shave.
If you have a big ole mess in your pants try trimming your bush before you shave/wax it.
Waxing HURTS so if you’re dealing with the burns then place a cold towel in the sore area and leave it for about 15 minutes and then apply aloe.
If you experience chest/breast hair the best thing to do is pluck the hairs, it’s painful but rewarding.
Makeup:
Clean your makeup brushes, regularly along with any other makeup appliances (beauty blenders, makeup pads) in a mix of warm water and a little bit of soap.
Use a blotting tissue and then add a small amout of cream concealer onto your eye makeup to prevent smudging.
Matte lipstick goes best with a shimmer eye makeup.
Wearing white eyeliner counteracts the redness in your eyes.
To make your cheekbones appear higher, use bronzer under the cheekbone and highlighter on the actual cheekbone.
In summer if you want to avoid caking yourself with foundation - use tinted moisturiser or BB cream instead.
Always wash your makeup off before going to bed, don’t leave it on.
Always make sure you blend your foundation so your neck isn’t a different colour to your face.
Clean your makeup bag out every once in a while and get rid of any products you don’t use - its cleaner, tidier and more hygienic.
Always make sure you have tape and q-tips handy. Tape is great for a perfect winged eyeliner and q-tips are great for cleaning and tidying up those hard to reach areas.
Concealer works great for a base for your eye makeup as the makeup will stick to it.
Using highlighter and illuminators on your cheekbones, browbone and cupid’s bow for a “dewy look”.
When using cream products like eyeshadow or blush - use translucent powder to set it in place.
Kat Von-D lipstick is blow job proof :)
Replace mascara and eyeliners every 3 months or so.
Don’t share makeup/appliances for your eyes, it may cause infections like conjunctivitis and maybe a sty.
Blot your lips after applying lipstick to avoid getting lipstick teeth.
General:
Change your bra every 5-11 days.
Always make sure your feet are dry before putting on socks and shoes to prevent fungal infections.
Wash blood stained clothes in cold water with 2 tablespoons of salt.
Try your own homemade beauty recipes.
If you peel/lick your lips it will damage them, don’t do that.
Applying eye cream on the cuticles of your nails will make them stronger and healthier.
Always carry tampons/pads even when you’re not on your period, someone else might need them.
Clean out your purse!! Get rid of all that junk and you will thank yourself next time you’re looking for something.
Masturbate. Whenever you can, it’s rewarding and good for you. (yes girls masturbate too).
Always pee after sex/masturbation to help avoid getting a UTI.
Bio-oil is good for stretch marks (as well as loving them).
Save some nice underwear for yourself and just wear your dead old pants when you’re on your period.
Buy yourself some nice underwear/lingerie whenever you can. Make sure it’s 100% cotton though otherwise you can get a yeast infection.
Test yourself every once in a while for STDs. It’s necessary.
Carry a condom on you, it’s not just the guy’s responsibility.
Apply a damp tissue to blotchy, red skin after crying, it will make you look as if you haven’t been crying at all.
Don’t let boys ruin your day.
Use a paperclip to clip the back of your bra straps together to create a racerback bra.
Wrap a maxi pad or pantyliner around any poking underwires in your bra.
Wash your pillow case every 1-2 weeks to help prevent acne.
Cucumbers are good for dark circles and puffy eyes just place a slice over your eyes and leave for about 15 minutes.
treat and love yourself and your body will reward you!!!

develop grit. your perseverance and passion towards what you want will help you reach your long-term goals.
there’s always someone better and there’s always someone worse, but there is no one like you. comparisons will kill you. be the best version of yourself.
find what works best for your learning style.
develop good habits. get into the habit of taking notes, being organized, and paying attention in class.
don’T PROCRASTINATE. study early. you’ll feel less stressed and you’ll retain more information.
if you don’t understand something don’t leave it ‘till the last minute. identify your problems/areas of struggle and target them.
try to relax here and there! always plan time to relax. ALWAYS take a break from studying.

study tips for high school freshmen
aka some of the things that have made this year bearable so far
if you’re stressed, coffee will make you jittery and overwhelmed. caffeinated teas (i love stash’s green+white tea fusion) are much better.
go to bed early and wake up early. you’ll be exhausted after school anyways, and this way you have more time to get ready in the morning. plus, sunrises make homework much more fun.
classical music can be really entertaining if you can find stuff that you like. try looking on 8tracks!
always keep a few dollars in your pencil case so that you can buy water or snacks if you need to.
find a friend or classmate who likes to study, and build a relationship with them. it doesn’t matter if you’re not that close, or you’re taking different classes. just being able to sit next to somebody and work in silence or have a place to go when you can’t focus at your own house can be a lifesaver.
if you don’t review your math notes every once in a while, you will forget everything.
have medicine on hand in case of a stress headache or something else that makes focusing 100% impossible.
also, if your eyes get tired really easily, you can get low-strength reading glasses from most drugstores. they really do make a difference.
you never know when you’re going to need a #2 pencil, sharpener, eraser, and ruler, but it’s more often than you’d think.
read plot summaries of books for your literature classes before you start reading them. you’ll be able to pick up on important moments, foreshadowing, and follow along with the story much easier, and you’re not in trouble if you miss a reading.
public libraries are a blessing. big tables, wifi, books, and a quiet space are so good to have.
make friends with your professors. it will pay off in the end if you need help, advice, or anything else, and is great for your class participation grade.
if you ever miss class, get notes from two different people. one might have missed some information or copied something wrong.
older students know a lot of stuff, and they’re usually really nice and will take you under their wing! don’t feel like your friend group has to be limited to people in your grade.
good luck, and hang in there. you got this <3

Strong words to use on a Resume
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you have ever had to write a resume for work or for an application, then you know the hardest part is figuring out what type of words to use that sound professional and and intelligent.
Example: If an application asks you if you have any relevant experience for a job at a day care center and you have experience, like you have babysat children. You would look at the words in the columns to see what words you should use that will help your resume stand out. You might put down “Have supervised and attended to children on a regular basis.”
I hope this is helpful to you.

50 Things I Learned Freshmen Year of College
Freshmen year was 9 months filled with adventure, homesickness, and growth. Here is a list of 50 things I learned in my first year of college.
Take a break from the pizza because the Freshmen 15 is a real thing
Be yourself, no one likes a foozy
From the moment you walk on campus during move in day don’t mention high school
Don’t be too nervous, everyone is on the same boat or was on the same boat as you
Make friends with multiple people who are ethnically/religiously/ ideologically different from you
Upperclassmen aren’t sharks
Make friends with Juniors and Seniors, there are plenty of perks that comes with this friendship.
Don’t forget why you are in college
Day before classes start, walk around campus and locate where your classes will be held so you won’t get lost
Don’t get lost on the first day
Sit in the front row, right in front of the professor
Introduce yourself to your professors during office hours
GO TO OFFICE HOURS! Your professor will love you for it
Study your butt off, at least 2-4 hours per class
Learn what type of learner you are as early as possible
Color code, flashcards, and planners = life savers
Read the textbook, it may not seem like it helps but reading the textbook will help reinforce what was taught in another way
Check out Slugbooks.com for great deals on books
Don’t pay full price for a textbook, sites like Slugbooks will save your life and your bank account will be very happy
Keep your desk clean and tidy
Don’t fall asleep during class your teachers will notice
Try to sleep for at least 8 hours a night
Realize that it may be a little impossible to sleep 8hrs each night
Investing in earplugs and sleeping masks
Don’t study on your bed. You will fall asleep!
You have to think quick on your feet, things change quickly
Meditation can help tremendously
Just remember this Breath in 1,2,3,4,5 breath out 1,2,3,4,5
There is nothing wrong with talking to the school’s therapist
Don’t take your mental health for granted
Keeping a diary/journal helps with anxiety
Take advantage of the gym… in the real world memberships to fitness centers are really expensive
Same goes for any type of services offered at school
Reading the newspaper, be informed
Going to Wal-Mart will hurt your wallet.
No, you do not need that blanket/tumbler/dress
If you have to think of why you may need something, that means you shouldn’t really buy it
Don’t wear Uggs if it’s snowing outside
Dress appropriate to the weather, you will look like an idiot if you’re wearing a cardigan and it’s 15 degrees outside.
You and your roommate may be on ends with one another in various times of the year, especially before big exams.
If you want to hook up with everyone you know, have one night stands, not have sex at all, Do you, just do it respectfully.
Tell your roommate before you have someone spend the night
You may lose touch with some high school friends
Taking lots of pictures helps when you’re home on break, and you’re missing your friends from school
Don’t knock Greek Life without giving it at least one chance
Frat parties are actually pretty lame, unless you’re super drunk already then maybe it’d be interesting
Don’t bring so much stuff from home to your dorm
Cleaning up after yourself will be much appreciated by your roommates
To lose a little weight try drinking more water and less alcohol
Even if there are rough patches during your first year of college, the bright and beautiful days that you can look back on makes it all worthwhile.

50 Things to know for back to school
1. Your school schedule is going to become your life. 2. Your first class will probably be your least favorite, and your last class will probably be your favorite. (This is your school’s way of saying they care.) 3. There’s going to be the group of Plastics. Don’t be a Cady. 4. You aren’t the only one with the crush on that hot teacher. 5. Losing your locker combination is like losing the key to the city. 6. There’s always going to be that one teacher who requires a binder instead of a notebook/folder (or vice versa.) Bring an extra one of them, just in case. 7. There’s always going to be that one kid who had the most epic summer, while everyone else had a dull summer. 8. Unless you’re going into freshman year, there probably won’t be any cute transfer students. (Sorry but it’s true.) 9. DON’T PISS OFF YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER OR YOUR FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER, BECAUSE THEY WILL MAKE SCHOOL HELL FOR YOU. 10. Pick the seat closest to the teacher, and sit away from your friends. 11. If you’re a new student, sit next to a random person and try to befriend them. 12. You aren’t the only person with your interests. 13. If you take gym, and you start getting foot odor, put tea bags in your shoes. It’ll refresh them. 14. Take pictures of your locker combination, locker number, school schedule, and classroom numbers. Leave it as your lock screen until you have it memorized. 15. If you don’t charge your phone at night, and if you don’t bring headphones, you’ll die. 16. Your history teacher or your language arts teacher will be your cool teacher. 17. Mean Girls is the best movie to watch before school. 18. Join a club about something that interests you. 19. Your school counselor will be your best friend. 20. If you feel like you’re peer pressured, tell someone. 21. There is no such thing as an “easy test.” 22. You don’t need all of your supplies with you on the first day. Just bring a pencil and a folder for your syllabus’. 23. Date your notes and assignments!! 24. If a teacher offers you extra credit, take it. 25. Take a cold shower in the morning. If helps wake you up. 26. Listening to Disney music will help. (It just does.) 27. You should have a separate playlist for school, or at least separate playlists for each subject!! For example, classical music for math, Disney music for history, pop for English, and rock music for science. 28. No matter what grade you’re in, you’re gonna watch Bill Nye the Science Guy in your science course. This is your science teacher’s way of saying they love you. 29. There’s always gonna be that one teacher who is up to date with every meme. 30. Cinnamon flavored gum helps in the early morning. 31. It’s okay to take a break from the internet and your friends to study. You’re not going to be a loser. 32. That party doesn’t matter more than that test. 33. Have cute school supplies. It’ll get you motivated to do homework and study. 34. Color code your notes! 35. In every friend group, there is a Drake and a Josh. Be the Josh. 36. If you’re at a party where you don’t know anyone, and there’s alcohol, the best thing to do is leave. 37. If you want to make sure you get to your first class on time, leave the house 10 minutes earlier than usual. 38. Flashcards will help. 39. Dress cute on the first and second day. Those are the days that matter the most. 40. Marathon school related movies with your friends before school, like Mean Girls, Heathers, and Clueless! 41. When you get your syllabus, wipe your tears with it. 42. If you’re ever feeling unmotivated, listen to the song “Dancing Through Life” from Wicked. It’s incredibly upbeat and catchy. (I’m not just saying this as a Wicked fan. I’m saying this as a person.) 43. After the first month of school, it’s probably safe to throw your syllabus away unless it’s required that you keep it. 44. If you’re ever in a partner project or group project, and it seems like you’re the only one doing the work, when you present it, ask someone else to talk. So then when they’re explaining it totally wrong and you have to jump in and say it for them, the teacher will know that you were the only one doing the work and they’ll give you credit. 45. Style your locker the way that you want to. It’s your personal space for the school year. 46. When you’re doing a study session for a test, chew mint gum. It’ll help you remember. And if you don’t like mint gum, you can just chew one flavor of gum and chew the same flavor during the test. It’ll help you remember. 47. When your teacher says you’re watching a video, be prepared for the dreaded worksheet about questions that you can’t even answer. 48. Sparknotes will save your life about a million times. 49. If your school has gross lunch, just eat an incredibly large breakfast to get you through the day. If not, bring snacks in your backpack, go to a vending machine in the school, or just being your lunch. 50. Personal hygiene is incredibly important. Don’t be the one kid with the terrible B.O. that no one wants to sit next to. BONUS: 51. You are beautiful, and you should always be true to yourself. Do not try and change yourself for anyone. You don’t deserve anyone who wants you to change who you are. I love you!
