Very recently I finally started writing my new AU that is (loosely) based on "The Cruel Prince" written by Holly Black. It includes Fae Prince Henry and human Alex that was trained to fight and kill and hides daggers in his boots, who eventually has to protect Henry from an increased threat to the (fae) royal family. It's still very much a Work in Progress so please be nice 🥺

Alex waits a few beats after Ambrose has rounded the corner before he whirls on Henry, with a storm brewing deep inside of him. “Don’t ever give me commands again,” Alex snarls at Henry, who in turn glares right back at him. “You also do not get to call me Alexander.” If Alex is a raging storm, Henry is cold calmth itself.  “I wasn’t going to let you kill him.” “He attacked me first, it would have been what he deserved.” “You provoked him.” “I only told him the truth, one of the things that you Fae love so much. Thereby, he hit you and didn’t listen to the fact that you said no, I will not just stand by and watch something like that happen.” He watches something flash over Henry’s face, but it’s brief and it is quickly replaced with that royal indifference he seems to wear so well. Alex wants to tell him that it doesn’t suit him very well, that he liked Henry much more with that soft, blissful look on his face when Alex unraveled him. “I appreciate that,” Henry says and Alex catches the genuinity in his voice, “but it doesn’t mean that you need to put a dagger against his throat.” “You could just thank me, you know?”

I haven't shared any of my writing in a while, so I thought I'd be brave and share some of the first chapter of my Warlock (Alex) AU that I have been working on for quite some weeks.

“What do you know about this man?” Pez asks him. “His name is Alex.” “And?” “And he is devastatingly handsome.” “Henry.” “Pez. I told you that I only ran into him at the bookstore near my place two days ago and that he asked me out on this date and that’s really about it.” “What if he is a serial ki–” “Henry!” a voice rings through the night.  He looks to the other side of the street, where the restaurant they decided to meet at is located, to find Alex standing in front of it. He waves at Henry with a smile so bright, Henry thinks that it could put the sun out of its job.  “God,” Pez whispers to Henry as the two of them, standing side by side, look at the man, “he looks fucking lethal.” “Yeah,” is all that Henry manages to get out, stunned by the beauty of the man that is now crossing the road and walking up to them. “He’s going to be the death of you.”  “I fucking know.” “Hi there,” Alex greets them when he joins the two of them on the pavement.  He flashes Henry that bloody gorgeous smile before turning to Pez. He holds out his hand and Pez doesn’t hesitate to reach for it, completely stunned into silence – which is not something that happens quickly.  “I’m Alex,” he introduces himself, “I assume you’re one of Henry’s friends.” “Percy Okonjo,” Pez manages to croak out, clearing his throat before he speaks again, “but you can call me Pez. I’m Henry’s best friend.” “It’s nice to meet you, Pez.” Alex bows down and brushes his lips over Pez’s knuckles and his friend takes in a sharp breath. “I assume you’re here to make sure that I’m not a serial killer?” The grin that spreads across Alex’s face as he looks from Pez to Henry is one full of mischief and amusement, his eyes twinkling in the dim light of the street lantern next to them; Henry isn’t sure that he has ever seen this kind of unfiltered joy on someone’s face.
