In my experience
The spatula has affected my life in many ways, it helps me to clean mixers and to flip burgers on the BBQ, it helped me make pate and it is constantly nearby in my kitchen. it is an irreplaceable tool.

Spatula cont.
The spatula has been a useful product since conception, whether it was for swatting flies, mixing or spreading food, plaster or paints. the spatula has been a real star in the fast food industry and is almost synonymous with the term ‘burger flipper’ to refer to anyone on the line making food at say McDonalds.

Cooking innovation
I decided to look into the history of spatulas today, turns out Horace Spatula invented it in 1798 as an invention for killing the common house fly. and the word itself dates back to 1525 to refer to various small instruments with a broad, flat, flexible blade

my advice for staying a chef on a diet would be to work in or at a place that serves keto friendly meals, so you can either make yourself something or bring something to work

RESULTS
as someone with shellfish allergy, the keto diet was a little bit harder to plan for as I lacked variety on certain days but I have to say this diet was a fun change of pace as I love meat and roasting vegetables

MY KETO EXPERIENCE
I decided to try the keto diet for a week.
Day1: fried egg with cheese, spinach and tomatoes on the side: cream of mushroom soup with bacon lardons: chicken salad with cucumbers, tomato and green onion
Day2: scrambled eggs on sauteed greens: beef stew: pork chops with roasted veg
Day3: protein shake: grilled salmon and caprese salad:  steak and grilled veggies

How it tastes
the dish focuses heavily on salty and umami flavors, as is common with Japanese cuisines but leans nicely on the natural sugars in the veggies.

A Yam Job
So i accidentally bought a red yam, mistaking it for a sweet potato and in the process I learned a lot about yams, they are tubers (like potatoes), come from Asia and Africa, are in the family of sweet potatoes and fit well into Japanese cuisine.

The recipe I used
https://www.gordonramsay.com/gr/recipes/beef-wellington/
i used gordon ramsey’s recipe for beef wellington but i made a few changes, I did not make the sauce (my family would not eat it) and i used prosciutto instead of parma ham.

Other ideas...
if a wellington is not really your speed, try a roast or turning them into fillet mignon, just be careful with the roast as the tenderloin does not have much fat so you may want to bard or lard it.
