This has to feel like such a hollow victory for Aaron. He should've gotten his first Tony a decade ago for Next to Normal, not now when he was literally the only nominee.

Also I think a lot of young people on the left are growing up without understanding "you can and will make mistakes in life and who you are is defined by how you move forward from them" and instead are doing things like "I must always be up the latest social justice language and must always avoid mistakes lest i be ostracized and cancelled for it so here is everything I support just so you don't think I don't support it, and I'll just feel bad and guilty for every mistake when I do make them and all this makes me a good person". It's like congrats you made Catholic guilt but woke

You know what else? We are so removed from the effect our jobs have on others.
Early in the pandemic, I was in the position to be able to dedicate my able-to-do-things time to making lasercut splash visors for the NHS. We made 3500 or so as part of a larger effort in the city that made 33000 or so total.
Every day we'd be the only people in the library where our community makerspace was, just us and sometimes the cleaner.
We'd chat with her and obviously we'd talk about the way her work was essential to ours. But before the pandemic she came in before anybody was in, she'd clean the entire building and she'd leave shortly before or after we, the librarians, and the other staff for the building arrived.
I often think about the way a) we are conditioned to take essential work, structural to our existence, for granted and b) how that divorces the worker from their impact on the world.
If we'd had to do the cleaning ourselves then first of all it wouldn't have been anywhere near as good (cleaning a large workspace is very different to cleaning a house), it wouldn't have been anywhere near as quick, and it would've meant much, much fewer visors were produced.
But if we acknowledge that cleaners are structurally indispensable to society, then we suddenly have to actually pay cleaners. We then have to look at how many jobs actually ARE necessary - because a lot of office jobs are just complete fucking nonsense actually - and rethink the entire workforce.
And then yeah actually the whole concept of capitalism falls apart.

Joyce Summers was the absolute worst.
No, seriously, she was the worst. I hate her more than I hate Xander, because Xander, for all his awfulness, did at least possess some redeeming qualities. Joyce was a selfish nitwit whose very best moments were barely mediocre.
Seriously, all the moments that are supposed to make us think she’s a great mom are just her doing the bare minimum to not be such a terrible mom for a change. And those moments don’t even come along that often! Most of her parenting moments are more like:
“I know I kicked my daughter out and was lucky enough for her forgive me and come home, but having her back is almost worse than not knowing where the hell she is or if she’s even alive. Also kicking her out was not my fault because I, the supposed adult, was upset about being finally confronted with information I had been willfully ignoring for years. My seventeen year old daughter who was going through massive trauma should have been the bigger person and known better than to take me at my word. I’m really the victim here, somehow.”
