I remember thinking back then (I’ve been around for that long too...) that the meditation in your yoga video was inspired by Vipassana principles. I don’t know if you’re familiar with that, but whoever was asking might be interested to know about it. It’s the most scientifically understood meditation technique, but it’s no joke...

I am not super familiar with Vipassana but the teacher who led the DVD classes is into meditation and has done tons of retreats and week-long silent sits, etc.

Meditation is like one of those thing I think, Oh, that would be nice, but never do on my own.

the hyooman asked my dad for permission to marry me

had a biopsy

it didn’t go well

had surgery

lost a dumb amount of blood

CLASSES START TOMORROW and i can’t wait to be inundated with sophomores

Not trying to steal your cookie recipe Sav but my boyfriend invited me to meet his parents for the first time and I really want to impress them!! Hahah somewhere deep in my likes you posted a recipe with pudding mix?? if i'm not mistaken! Would you mind passing on your baking wisdom?!

Here is the one I recommend for beginners/someone looking for an easy CCC recipe. 

PRO TIP: don’t make the pudding and put it in. Just put the pudding mix directly into the dough like its flour.

my doctorate was officially conferred over a week ago so I guess I should change my URL but like...I update twice a year lol. 

I also signed a contract to stay on at this conservatory for another year. and my birthday is Saturday and the boy is planning something that he’s super excited about so life is pretty f*ckin good.

I canceled my Friday lectures because (a) the entire department except for me is out of town for our national conference and not having class anyway, (b) my afternoon section is so full of apathetic shits that I need to not see them for a while so I can simmer down, and (c) I just got a metric ton of revisions to my third chapter which need attending to. Chapters 4 and 5 are also with my advisor right now and Chapter 6 is halfway written. I have to have a complete draft done by the end of January to make it for May graduation.

Also I managed to find a single, awesome human in this town of 3,200 who is neither my student nor my direct colleague so I snapped him up about two months ago and he’s very lovely.

This was my biannual update.
