Victoria noticed him flinch and she retracted her hand from him. She understood, some people disliked physical contact. People had their past, just like she did, so she rarely questioned things like these. “It’s okay,” she repeated again reassuringly, to both his worry of her clothes and whatever he felt or thought of when she touched him. “It’s just a shirt, nothing major.” She smiled at him, “that’s not a problem, I shoul’ve probably watched where I was going. Are you okay?”
Tumblr media
Alvy blinked, his gaze rooted in the floor. Her words served to soothe him, but the guilt still overwhelmed him. “Shirts are expensive though! And that’s- that- that was obviously a nice one before I came along and ruined it.” He sighed, scratching the side of his head. “No, I should have watched where I was going, but, uh, y-yes. Thank you. I- yes, uh, thanks.”

“Well sitting and sulking isn’t going to change anything.” She huffed and crossed her arms over her stained dress. “The best way you can make up it to me ?? “ she trailed off thinking about all the possibilities of punishment. All illegal and/or too expensive for the boy. Plus she wasn’t one to rely on someone else. “I’ll let you off easy ‘cause I feel bad for you. My roommate always takes up the hot water in the morning. You let me shower in your room - and I won’t break your wrist for damaging my property. Deal??”
Tumblr media
“You’re right, I’m-I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to- Sorry.” The words she’d said brought him right back to his childhood, it seemed that most of her words served to bring him back to worse times. He awaited her next words, as though he was waiting for his sentence in court. He knew he deserved this though, whatever it may be. “I-Yeah, but I’m not a student, so I don’t like on campus. I live right off campus though, and it’s not far at all. So, I’d be happy to lend you my shower as long as you don’t mind a little walk.” He cringed, he couldn’t even give her what she wanted properly.

prfectmichele:
Michele giggled slightly at his persistence in making sure that she was absolutely alright with everything. Little did he know that because of this persistence she had forgiven him in seconds flat. He was truly one of the best people around town, she would never be able to hold anything against him. “So many times I could recite it word for word if you would like me to. Truly, Alvy, it is no problem.” Michele smiled at the man. He was endearing even if he was worryingly skittish. Maybe it was those years growing up with Piglet just around the corner. “Alright… well, would you still like to accompany me anyway? I feel I need a spot of tea to get my day going.”
Tumblr media
“You could? Well, that’s-that’s pretty impressive- if-if you ask me, which you surely weren’t.” Alvy shook his head, feeling as though he was making a fool of himself. Of course, that was normal. There was rarely a time when Alvy felt confident in anything he’d done. It surprised him that she’d wanted his company, why would anyone want that? “I-I would like that. I mean, if-if you would like that, then I would like that too.” A spot of tea with Michele seemed like a rather good time. One-on-one interactions were never Alvy’s thing, but surely, with Michele, he might be able to have at least a little bit of fun. She always made him feel as comfortable as possible, and he was so thankful for that.

“Oh, I’m fine…” She readjusted her ponytail, tying it just a bit tighter, before grabbing an ice cream scooper. “What would you like?” She smiled a little more genuinely at the customer. He wasn’t scary in the slightest. At least she didn’t have to worry about him getting angry if she messed up, which she inevitably would.
Tumblr media
“Oh, well, th-that’s good.” Why would he say that? Alvy didn’t know. The only things he seemed to know is that she’s pretty and he’s an idiot. “Uh, I-I’ll have... um, actually, I’ll just have plain vanilla with the ch-chocolate sprinkles in a waffle cone p-please!” He smiled, but he knew he’d stumbled over his words too much and probably confused her, or, in the very least, annoyed her. He hated being a problem, but that’s all that he ever seemed to be.

roselinewynters:
“It’s a very small island, near Pattaya–” Rose paused briefly to consider her words, before clarifying, with a hint of uncertainty, “In Thailand.” If he didn’t know without her saying, then her addition was helpful. If he did know, then she supposed it would be sort of rude of her to have just assumed he didn’t. She wouldn’t mean it to be, but him not knowing where Ko Samet was (anyone else would have excused him not knowing the exact whereabouts of a tiny island, but Rose was not anyone else) didn’t have her feeling too hopeful. “I got it from a lady who’d set up her stall on Haad Sai Kaew beach, ahead of one of the fire shows. She had loads, but…- well, it’s gorgeous, isn’t it?” She gazed fondly down at the small jade tiger for as long as she was allowed to, before all her little bits and bobs had tumbled back into her waiting arms and it got buried, a little, amongst the rest. “Well… I mean. I’d assume so, but I’ve just come from there and I don’t think I saw a sign…- you don’t have any inkling at all as to where it is? Even a general direction?”
Tumblr media
Alvy was thankful that she continued into a more informative description, he’d had no idea where Pattaya was. “You’ve been to Thailand?” He asked excitedly, having never been much of anywhere. Alvy wished he could’ve taken another look at it, but his hands were already allowing all of the little objects to return back to their owner. “Fire shows? What are those like?” This girl seemed so interesting, and although he was shy, and would usually be ashamed of asking so many questions, he simply couldn’t help himself. “It-It is gorgeous though! Stunning, really.” He smiled, it really had caught his eyes from all of her other knick-knacks in the pile. “Um, n-no. I-I hate to disappoint, but I’m... I’m really quite useless. Y-You’d be much better off asking someone else.” He felt bad about not knowing, truthfully, he was quite clueless about the majority of things on campus. He knew the streets around where he lived and he knew that few buildings near the hospital wing on campus, but that was all he really knew. “I-I wish I could help,” He said sadly, eyes diverting to the floor.

“not quite the look I was going for but hey.” she shrugged chuckling a little. “No its really okay.. least I like the smell of coffee. Honestly.. I probably would have done the same.” she sighed brushing her hair back.
“Y-You would have? I’m sure you wouldn’t. You-you seem like you have it all together. Me, on the other hand...” He trailed off, chuckling nervously but feeling rather relaxed. Thankfully, she didn’t seem too upset.

“You can’t afford it, sugar - believe me.” Scar snapped, looking over the mess the man had made. Scar was not the type to re-wear outfits. She was probably going to retire this dress anyway. But she was going to give Alvy a hard time. No one ruins her purchases. “ Just - Just learn to not be a bumbling idiot, okay?!”
Tumblr media
“I-I fig- I figured. It-It’s so nice, I’m so, so sorry.” Alvy couldn’t seem to stop feeling guilty. How could he? He just ruined what seemed to be a priceless dress. “I-I know that I- I mean, I am a bumbling idiot.” He sighed, “Sometimes I think that’s all I am- I’m- can I do anything to make it up to you? I... I really owe you one.” He hated this. He felt like he was back at home, begging for his mother’s forgiveness. He was always messing up in one way or another.

prfectmichele:
Michele let Alvy work through his momentary panic. She’d found with him that it was best to wait until he got it all out of his system before proceeding. All Ele needed to do was stand there, take in what he was saying, and wait for a moment or two before proceeding. She liked that she knew how to handle Alvy. He was one of the few people at WDA that she felt she had worked out. Of course, although Michele thought she understood something it didn’t necessarily mean that she did. “Alvy….” She made sure he was looking her in the eyes, “It’s truly no problem. It’s just a book. I know. Surprising for me to say but it is simply that. It’s a book. One I’ve read a thousand times already. Alright, maybe not a thousand but close to it. You are fine. Now, could I perhaps buy you another coffee? I feel bad that you just lost yours.”
Tumblr media
Alvy did feel a sense of acceptance, or perhaps it was comfort, with how Michele dealt with him. She was so soft and gentle in her ways, it made him feel better just being allowed to get all of his messed up speech out, and to take a deep breath, before continuing. “Thank you,” He said quietly, pushing a smile onto his lips. “Y-You swear you’ve read it before?” He gave her a worried book, if it was new he’d be so upset with himself. He always saw Michele with a book, so they clearly meant a lot to her. “No, d-definitely not. The coffee is fine. I c-could never allow you to pay for the coffee that I just sp-spilled all over you! That’s r-ridiculous. I’ll be fine.” He shook his head, before remembering his manners, “Thank you though!”

amiraababwa:
Amira wiped her hands on her apron, biting her lower lip as she looked outside. It was raining quite considerably and she was hoping the bad weather would keep people away. This was her first shift at her first job and she was nervous as all get out. Of course, it was only an ice cream shop so it wasn’t like she was in some sort of high pressure situation. Still, she was all alone and very unsure of herself for the first time in a long time. She looked up as the bell above the door went off. She smiled nervously at the customer. “Hi there.”
@alvygrimhilde
Tumblr media
Alvy didn’t quite know why, but all day, all he wanted was an ice cream cone. Even in the rain, even after a long day of work at WDA’s hospital wing, he still found himself trekking down to the local ice cream shop. He heard a pleasant voice greet him, and Alvy looked up with a friendly smile. It faltered a little when he saw who he was talking to- a beautiful girl (which was territory he was never good with). “H-Hi.” He pushed the smile back onto his lips and approached the counter, fingers nervously tapping against the counter as soon as he could reach it. “I-Uh, how... how are you?” He looked down at the floor, silently hating himself for acting like such an idiot.

walmartkaligaris:
“Yeah, you. Just a little. It’s not a compliment you should go writing home to momma about, though,” immediately, she tried to back away from it. Her words weren’t even all too kind or special, but they were so unusually positive, she didn’t want to associate them with herself, any longer. Yeah, it was something of a compliment– she couldn’t deny that– but it was one more easily given than Andrea was used to, and she half regretted it. “Oh. You know– do you guys get to avail of the free condoms, too? Are teachers allowed sleep with one another, or is that kinda frowned upon? What happens if a teacher gets caught with a student?” Poor Alvy. Try and make sense of one question already asked, and he opened himself up to even more. Andrea could’ve held back, and not been so inappropriately nosy, but…  well, she was kind of on a roll. “Only one?” She blinked in surprise, thinking to some of the things she’d seen fellow students get up to during the latest party. He seemed pretty genuine– but she had to wonder how many students didn’t come in, weekly, that let that number stay so low. “I’ve heard that the school had, like, an outbreak of chlamydia two years ago, and that parents actually threatened to sue. Would you even be able to tell me if there had been an outbreak? Or would you have to keep that secret?” It wasn’t really a secret if he told so easily, she supposed, but it was just another in a long line of questions she deemed necessary, “I wonder how often students and teachers get together…- have you ever gotten with a student? You don’t look too old…- you’ve probably got plenty of college students to choose from, huh?”
Tumblr media
“I-I wouldn’t write to my mom about that,” Alvy stated, just the idea of his mother practically struck fear in his heart. He’d never reach out to her, not unless he had to. Alvy, to say the least, was a little taken aback as her questions continued, and only seemed to get dirtier as they passed. “I-I mean- Anyone can come in and take them, we don’t... keep track of who takes them. We just.. give them out.” He shrugged, he was sure he’d seen a couple of teachers, but he didn’t really think much of it. “I-I don’t know how the school would find out who’s... slept with who unless they make it a public thing somehow.” He tried to inform Andrea to the best of his ability, but he really wasn’t a pro on all of this. “I-I suppose, if they’re caught with a student, it would depend how old the student is. If they’re 18 or older, I’m not sure what the punishment would be, or if there’d be any at all. I-I haven’t heard of anything like that happening here.” Alvy wondered where she even got all of these questions from. He’d never even given a mere thought to the majority of them. “Well, I’m not the only nurse here. Maybe I’ve just been lucky?” He began to question his answer, wondering how many people actually came in weekly to get an STD test. “I wasn’t here two years ago, I haven’t heard anything. I suppose that the school would probably want to keep that under wraps if it did happen. You’d have to hunt down one of the older nurses here and ask them if you want the answer to that one.” He said with a light chuckle, some students came in asking questions, but never like this. He’d maybe heard of the chlamydia outbreak once or twice from other students, but never from an employee, so he always wrote it off as gossip. “I-I- Wh-What? No- No. I’ve never- and I-I wouldn’t be with a stu-student in-in that... way.” If Alvy was uncomfortable with anything, it was himself and any question, especially a sexual one, that involved himself. He hadn’t lived a normal life, after thirty long years, he’d never had a non-professional relationship with anyone. “I-I’m thirty, which, in your case, should be considered old.”

prfectmichele:
Michele could have cried. A new book ruined by coffee. Of course, her first instinct was to snap but, of course, she held herself back. Alvy didn’t mean it. He was a kind soul. Besides, she could get a new book. It was only a material item and recently she’d learned that material items would only ever last so long. “Alvy. Dear. Take a breath.” She placed the book aside and placed a hand on his arm. “You’re alright! I keep a spare shirt with me always and that book is a personal one. Easily replaceable. Even if it’d been a library book it would be replaceable. Are you alright, though? You’ve definitely woken me up for the day! I didn’t even need to drink the coffee.” She stated, making the joke.
Tumblr media
Alvy’s eyes quickly fell to her hand on his arm, his fingers tensing up for a split second before relaxing once more. “I-I’m sorry, I get myself- all- you know, I-” He shut himself up, deciding to take a second to just try and breathe instead of work himself up more. He looked down, shaking his head as he listened to her speak. Her words were soothing, but he still felt as though she was disappointed in him- how could she not be? He pushed a small smile onto his lips in a reaction to her joke, although he wasn’t much for comedy right now. “I’ll give you money for the book! I don’t want you to have to go buy a new one just because one idiot spilled his coffee all over it.” He paused, before continuing, “But- uh, yes. I’m fine. Th-Thanks.”

Scarlett was not a functioning human being until she got her morning latte or some other sugary filled drink. She clicked her heels down the path skimming pinterest on her phone when she heard the beginnings of someone tripping into her. Not having enough time to dodge out of the way, she had to simply stand there while the burning liquid splashed all over her chest and perfectly tailored dress. She remembered Alvy. He had helped her after she scraped her knee a while back. That aside, she was pissed and couldn’t care less how nice he was or not. “Do you know how much this dress cost me?!”
Tumblr media
“No, I-I don’t but- but it’s so pretty- and-and ruined.” Alvy sighed, rubbing his forehead with his hand, feeling as terrible as one could. “I- I’ll pay for it! I mean, I’ll try to pay for it! It just looks... expensive. I-I’m so sorry. I’m a mess and I-I could never make this up to you, could I?” He wasn’t sure how he managed to mess up everything he touched, even a cup of coffee. He just wished for once- just this once, things didn’t go so astray for him. He remembered seeing Scar around, and she seemed mostly nice, but not he grew concerned, or at least, more concerned than his usual state.

Thank God the coffee wasn’t too hot, that would’ve been really painful for both of them. Victoria simply looked down at the forming stain on her clothes, before looking up at him. “Hey, no– It’s okay.” she said with a gentle smile. “Alvy?” she called him, softly squeezing his shoulder to make him look up. “it’s okay, it’s just coffee, you’re not dumb.”
Tumblr media
Alvy couldn’t help it- he flinched when she touched him. He had gone years and years without so much as another human’s touch as a child, and it never felt quite right when anyone reached out to him. The one thing his mother had never done was physically abuse him, but the lack of love, the lack of touch, made any sensation from another’s feel wrong. He didn’t deserve her kindness. “I-I guess, but I- I’m so sorry. Your- your shirt it’s- oh god.” He sighed, feeling as if this situation was the worst possible one he could get himself into. “I- Th-Thank you, for being so kind to me.”

roselinewynters:
“Pretty full?” She repeated, blankly, too distracted by her continued search to fully understand what he meant by that. It took far too long a moment for her to put two and two together, and realize that she, herself, had done this by practically throwing most of the contents of her pockets at him. “I guess I kinda messed that up for both of us, then. Sorry– but you can feel free to drop anything there, if it’s in the name of finding my key,” her gaze lifted and flickered over all the items she’d piled into his hands, and after brief consideration, she added, “– Except that figurine. It was handcarved by a lady from Ko Samet, and I’m not sure how much of a knock it can take without breaking. Same with that bracelet– the beads are glass, and they’re at least seventy years old, so…” Only then did she realize that, in spite of her earlier words, she really wouldn’t be happy if he dropped anything she’d given him. Even if it was in search of her key. With a sigh, Rose shook her head and pulled her hands from her pockets, abandoning her search so she could instead hold them out to him once again, “On second thoughts, drop nothing. Just– I’ll take it all back. Maybe after, you can direct me to the front desk?”
Tumblr media
Alvy was going to stutter out a response but she continued to speak. He glanced down at his hands, already thinking that dropping her stuff wouldn’t be the best idea when she said it herself. As much as he usually avoided human interaction at all costs, she made him too curious not to ask. He spotted the small figurine and wondered where it came from, and it seemed like it’d had quite a story. “K-Ko Samet? Where’s that?” He asked curiously, wondering about the girl more and more. She seemed so interesting to someone as boring as Alvy. He nodded at her words, carefully cupping his hands over hers and letting the items drop between them and safely land on Rose’s palms. “The- The front desk? It’s- I don’t- i don’t live here, actually, but I- I assume it’s downstairs. I-I think?”

winniemiller:
to be fair, winnie wasn’t paying too much attention, either. her eyes were stuck on her phone screen until the two collided, a good portion of the hot coffee spilling onto her white shirt. “ow,” she managed before looking down at her now ruined top. naturally, she laughed– not even at the situation, or at the school nurses apologies. but because of course this would happen to her. her life had to be fifty shades of awkward at all times, or else she’d drop dead, or something equally as dramatic. “heh–,” the blonde’s mouth opened, then closed again, rubbing the giant stain as if that was going to remove it, instead only making it worse. “um– no. it’s not your fault. that was probably… all me. being absent minded, as usual. you’re not dumb. promise. there’s– uh. nothing to be fixed here… i just need like… a tide pen. a really frickin’ big tide pen. no. . uh. . biggie. .”
Tumblr media
Alvy was surprised at her reaction, her laughing. He stared at her, eyebrows knit in confusion (and some slight worry), unsure of what to do next. Then, his face fell, self-doubt filling his mind. Of course, she was laughing at him. He could never do anything right, and apparently that included being able to carry his coffee out of the store. “It was my fault- I- I- um, I’m always screwing things up.” He spoke honestly, feeling worse as each second past. Every time his eyes fell to the brown stain on her white shirt he felt worse and worse. “I- I can buy you another shirt! At least, I can give you the money for it. Uh, hold on, okay?” He offered a smile but he was distracted by reaching in his pocket and pulling out his wallet. “Uh, how much is a shirt? Thirty dollars? That should cover it, right?” He was speaking quickly, almost frantically. He just wanted to get out of this situation as fast as he could.
